Common questions in The Village

How far is The Village from London?

It’s about 24 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Which station should guests use for The Village?

The closest is Windsor & Eton Central station, roughly 3 miles away.

Will there be long queues?

Tell us expected visitor numbers and we’ll plan for peak times.

Do you run a bar at festivals?

We can add our drinks bar if the event is licensed for it. We’ll go through the licensing with you.

Do you need water?

Send pitch details and we’ll confirm.

How big an event can you cater?

Truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers.

Which areas do you serve?

London and South East England: Greater London, Kent and Medway, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, including The Village.

Do you have dairy-free options?

Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need dairy-free food, and we will plan the menu around them.

Organising for someone else?

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.

How it works

A typical event goes like this: we arrive and set up, we open the hatch when you are ready, and your guests are served fresh for the agreed time. A December market in The Village loses the light at about 3:55pm, so a lit pitch helps visitors find the truck. By contrast, a midsummer fair stays light until about 9:25pm.

  1. Tell us about the event, the crowd and the pitch.
  2. You get our menu and pitch requirements.
  3. We confirm power, water and access arrangements.
  4. On the day, we are ready before the busiest hours.
  5. When trading ends, the pitch is cleared and left clean.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
