Planning an event in The Village?

Your questions about wedding Mexican catering in The Village

Do you come out to small places like The Village?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Which station should guests use for The Village?

Guests can use Windsor & Eton Central station, about 3 miles north-east of The Village.

What about supplier meals?

Of course. Add your suppliers to the final numbers.

Do you need power and water?

That depends on the set-up, so we confirm power and water arrangements with each booking. Tell us what’s available at your venue.

Are plates and napkins included?

That is confirmed with each quote. Let us know what the venue supplies.

Is the food suitable for children?

Yes. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Include children in your numbers.

Can you cater for all our guests’ diets?

We can. We plan gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests, and we give allergen information for every dish.

What do you serve?

Mexican street food and drinks: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.

Wedding Mexican catering in The Village, served fresh

We can cater the wedding breakfast, the evening food or both. A taco bar for the meal and loaded nachos or tacos for the evening works well. Popular choices include loaded nachos, a taco bar for the wedding breakfast and fresh guacamole and salsas, which works well for gatherings the day after a wedding and farm and barn venues.

There’s something special about a country wedding near The Village, and a food truck by the barn or marquee adds to it. Plan access, ground and cover in case of rain. Everything is prepared fresh for your wedding and served from our truck or trailer.

Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, most diets are easy. We suggest:

  • Ask about your date as soon as you have one
  • Tell us about guests with coeliac disease or severe allergies
  • Plan a covered area for eating in case of rain
  • Share your running order, including speeches

If things run late, and we’ll adjust when we serve so the food is still hot.

Tell us if you need plates, cutlery or staff, and we will set it out in the quote.

Getting married in The Village?

The Village is about 2 miles south of Windsor, in Windsor and Maidenhead. Weddings in The Village are planned around your venue and timings: a clear quote, agreed timings and fresh service on the day. We serve in 57 places in Windsor and Maidenhead, from the larger towns to small villages. Our nearest city page is Guildford, about 14 miles away.

It helps to add rail details to the invitations, as Windsor & Eton Central station is about 3 miles away. Around The Village, historic houses include St Leonard's Hill (1.7 miles north) and Frogmore House (2.8 miles north-east). A listed house can make a beautiful backdrop, but many have firm rules on vehicles, so raise the food truck with them at your first visit.

We cater weddings across the SL4 postcode area. We can cater a wedding on streets such as Sheet Street Road and Forest Road. We also serve at weddings in Cranbourne (1 mile west), Woodside (1 mile south-west), Plaistow Green (2 miles west), Cheapside (2 miles south) and Brookside (2 miles south-west). Organising for someone else?

Organising a club, school or community event in The Village? Service from a truck or trailer is quick, even for a crowd, and the menu can suit most diets. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest a menu.

If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, and handles allergen information for you.

How it works

Expect a friendly, organised team. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up our food truck or trailer, and get on with serving. Golden-hour photos in The Village at midsummer come around 9:25pm, which helps us time evening food around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:55pm, and in late September about 7:05pm.

  1. First, we check availability for your date.
  2. You choose the fillings, sides and extras.
  3. We confirm the plan with your venue.
  4. Guests build their tacos at the taco bar or order at the hatch.
  5. We serve, then pack down.

Wedding Mexican catering or something else?

Buffets can mean food waiting for a while. Tacos go straight from the hatch to the plate when guests are ready. Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

What we offer in The Village

  • Allergen information for everything we serve
  • Book food, drinks or both
  • Fast service, even with a queue
  • Set-up planned with you and your venue

Read our prices page and the cost guide.

Space, access and the venue

No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours when you get in touch. In general, we need:

  • A serving spot close to the marquee or reception area
  • Room for a queue in front of the serving hatch
  • A route in that is wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
