How we price Mexican catering

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • How long we are needed on site
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food

Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you can choose what you need.

What we need to know

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Your menu ideas
  • The date and time of the event
  • The venue or postcode
  • How we drive in and where we can park

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

About our Mexican catering in Waterhall

Taco catering in Waterhall is what we do best. Our food truck or trailer travels to events across Waterhall and nearby: private gardens, venue grounds, courtyards and fields. Popular choices include loaded nachos, burritos and quesadillas, and it is a good fit for charity and school events and retirement and leaving parties.

Somewhere as small as Waterhall, a garden or field is often the venue. Country lanes, long drives and gates are fine if we know about them, and soft ground after rain is worth mentioning. Timings are planned around your event, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

  • Staff parties and office lunches

Questions to ask before you book

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Before you choose a spot

If a space isn’t suitable, we will tell you, and suggest an alternative. The main points are:

  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first
  • Space for guests to queue
  • Some distance from houses and neighbours

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

Waterhall: your questions answered

Could you serve in Withdean Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

Will you travel to a small place like Waterhall?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Do you need power and water?

Let us know what’s available on site, for instance a supply from the venue, and we will confirm what we need with your quote.

What if it rains?

The truck or trailer serves in the rain, though guests need a covered place to eat.

What’s on the menu?

Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings could include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. See our menu for ideas.

Can you serve drinks as well?

Yes. The drinks bar offers margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and alcohol-free drinks. We’ll talk licensing through with you.

What does Mexican catering cost?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the length of service and the location. Send us the details for a quote.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but our truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. Tell us your numbers and we’ll advise.

Comparing your options

A plated meal needs a kitchen and a larger team. Our truck or trailer brings its own kitchen, so we need a suitable spot, access and the venue’s permission, with power and water confirmed when you book. Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, along with extras and where your event is. Every event gets its own quote.

Why book with us

  • Every guest catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free included
  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • We cover Waterhall and the whole of Brighton and Hove
  • Service planned around your numbers

How the day works

Expect a friendly, organised team. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, get the serving area ready, and serve without fuss. Evenings in Waterhall stay light until about 9:20pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm. For anything running past sunset, think about lights near the hatch.

  1. Share the date, the venue and how many are coming.
  2. Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
  3. We confirm the way in and where we’ll park.
  4. Food is served from the hatch or a taco-bar table.
  5. We clear our serving area when everyone is fed.

How to prepare

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches

Planning for every diet

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains
  • Confirm allergies by email before the event
  • Tell us what other food is being served
  • Give us separate numbers for children

For a taco bar, we lay the fillings, salsas and toppings out on a table, and guests build their own.

A tray of loaded nachos works well to start.
