Around Caterham
Local spots for an event include homes and venues near The King And Queen Public House, de Stafford School and Sunnydown School. Other local landmarks include Dollypers Hill (1.9 miles north-west), Hillcroft Primary School (less than half a mile south-east) and Sacred Heart Church (under half a mile east). The nearest railway station is Caterham station, roughly 0.7 miles south-east. Nearby you will also find Bletchingley Castle (3.4 miles south) and East Surrey Museum (0.6 miles south-east). Green spaces nearby include South London Downs National Nature Reserve and Mercers Lake.
Catering events across CR3
CR3 covers everything from Coulsdon, Caterham and Warlingham to 4 small villages and hamlets, and a food truck or trailer can work in all of them, given access. In towns, plan parking and loading; in villages, tell us about lanes, gates and ground.
Caterham: Before you pencil in Dollypers Hill, find out who manages it: driving a truck onto parkland and selling food there both need their agreement. With the B2030 and B2031 nearby, getting the truck or trailer to Caterham is straightforward. Winter evenings in Caterham close in by about 3:55pm, so choose a spot where guests can see what they’re ordering. At midsummer, the light holds until around 9:20pm.
Planning for every diet
A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:
- Collect dietary needs when guests reply
- Guests with serious allergies should speak to us in advance
- Tell us how many children are coming
- Tell us what other food is being served
If you’ve chosen a taco bar, the fillings, salsas and toppings go out on a serving table, and guests help themselves while we keep it topped up.
Quesadillas are a good choice for children and cautious eaters, because they’re simple.
DIY taco night versus a caterer
Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.
Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.
Occasions we cater for in CR3
You do not need a kitchen, so it works in gardens, fields and grounds without catering facilities.

- Office lunches and team days
- Leaving parties

How we price Mexican catering
Every event is priced individually, and the price depends on a few things:
- Serving staff
- Whether you add a drinks bar or food
- What the venue already provides
- Parking and the route in
Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so share your ideas with us. We will suggest options to suit your budget.
What we need to know
When you get in touch, it helps to tell us:
- Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
- Your menu ideas
- A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
- The date and time of the event
A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. When you’re ready, tell us about it on our contact page.
CR3 questions
What if the weather’s bad?
We can serve from the hatch in the rain. It’s worth planning a covered area for guests, and let us know if the ground gets soft after heavy rain.
Do you take everything away?
We clear our own area when service is finished. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.
How many guests can you cater for?
Truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. Bigger festivals and smaller parties are looked at case by case.
How spicy is the food?
It’s up to you: we can keep it mild and put the hotter salsas on the side.
Can you run a bar?
Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Alcohol at an event may need a licence, such as a premises licence or a Temporary Event Notice, so we’ll check the licensing with you.
Can guests build their own tacos?
Yes, a taco bar is one of the ways we serve. Tell us about your space and numbers and we will recommend how to serve.
Do you need electricity?
Let us know what’s available on site, such as a supply from the venue near where we’ll park, and we will confirm the arrangements with your quote.
