About our taco bar hire in Catmore

For a bigger spread, burrito bowls, nachos or quesadillas can sit alongside the tacos. Our drinks bar can be booked with it too. At family get-togethers and engagement and anniversary parties, we will put together a menu of slow-cooked fillings kept hot, a build-your-own taco bar and pickled onions and toppings and more.

In a hamlet or village like Catmore, a barn or marquee can shelter a taco bar from the weather. We set up the station and our team runs it; tell us about access and parking. We serve from the hatch of our truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan the service around your numbers.

Dietary needs and planning tips

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Here’s how:

  • Set out seating near the bar
  • Confirm any allergies to us by email
  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Include a dietary question on your invitations

Staff stay at the taco bar to refill bowls and answer questions.

Our drinks bar can sit alongside the taco bar with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas, with licensing checked with you.

The process

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we will help you choose a spot with room for a queue. Rain doesn’t normally stop us serving, but guests will need somewhere covered. Around midsummer it stays light in Catmore until about 9:25pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:10pm, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so guests will need light to see the fillings and toppings.

  1. Tell us about your event and your guests.
  2. We send a sample spread and a quote.
  3. We check power, water and access with your venue.
  4. We set up the station and keep everything hot.
  5. Afterwards, we pack down and leave the area tidy.

Prices and what affects them

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Guest numbers
  • What’s on the menu
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Timings and hours

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, plus any add-ons and the location. We quote for each event individually.

Getting an accurate quote

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • The date and time of the event

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. For a quote, tell us about it on our contact page.

Comparing your options

Buffet trays can go cold and tired. Our fillings stay hot and the bowls are topped up as guests come back. Larger events can cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

What you get with us

  • A menu built around your guests
  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • Quoted for your event
  • Allergen-aware menus

Your questions about taco bar hire in Catmore

Do you cater in villages like Catmore?

Yes, small places are no problem, given access. Let us know about access and parking for the truck or trailer.

Can the taco bar go in a local hall rather than outside?

Yes, with the venue’s permission. Tell us about the parking, the doors and the space for the station.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Popular dates go first, so it pays to ask early.

Is a taco bar right for a wedding?

A taco bar makes a relaxed, sociable wedding meal. Service is timed around speeches and photos. There is more in our taco bar guide.

Who looks after the taco bar?

Our staff set up the bar, keep the fillings hot and top up the dishes through service.

How long do you serve for?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. The length of service is agreed when you book.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but our truck and trailer service normally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Tell us your numbers and we will advise.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we do. The drinks bar can be added to food or booked on its own. We will check the licensing for alcohol with you.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Planning the serving area

Everything is served from our food truck or trailer, so the spot needs a little planning. Here’s what we look for:

  • Room nearby to park and unload our vehicle
  • Easy access from where we unload to the table
  • A spot next to the truck or trailer when both are booked

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before booking.
