Space, access and the venue

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but there are a few things to check:

  • Room for the bar alongside the vehicle, if booked together
  • A parking or loading spot near the serving area
  • Space for a serving table on level ground

As a London location, Dagenham Green is inside the ULEZ, and parking and loading take planning: let us know about permits, bays, off-street space or a parking suspension.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before you book.

How our taco bar hire works in Dagenham Green

Truck and trailer bookings generally suit around 50 to 400 guests, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers and we will plan the taco bar around them. On the menu are warm corn and flour tortillas, fresh salsas and guacamole, and it suits birthday celebrations and evening wedding receptions.

London gardens are often reached only through the house, and many venues in Dagenham Green have no vehicle access to the room. A taco bar station can be set up away from the truck, with the venue’s agreement, and we need a short, clear route from where we unload. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free included, and we give allergen information for every dish.

Planners, venues and businesses

If you’re organising for someone else, whether you’re a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we are happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It saves passing messages back and forth.

If you are booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we’ll talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

What happens on the day

On the day, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. We are ready to serve at the agreed time, planned around your event. A December taco bar in Dagenham Green will be in the dark from about 3:50pm, so an indoor spot or a well-lit station works best. At midsummer, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.

  1. Send us your date, where the taco bar will go, numbers and dietary needs.
  2. We plan the fillings and toppings with you and quote for them.
  3. Before the day, we confirm the serving spot, unloading, power and water with the venue.
  4. Our staff set up the station, keep the fillings hot and top up the bar through service.
  5. Once guests have eaten, we take down the bar and leave the spot tidy.

FAQs for Dagenham Green

Which station is closest to Dagenham Green?

Dagenham Green has its own station: Dagenham Dock station.

Could the taco bar go somewhere in Dagenham Green that the truck cannot reach?

Yes, with the venue’s agreement: our staff set up the station where your guests are. We still need somewhere close by to unload, and in London that may mean a loading bay or a parking suspension.

What is a build-your-own taco bar?

We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings on a serving table, and guests build their own tacos. Our staff keep it hot and topped up.

What if the weather’s bad?

We can keep serving from the truck or trailer in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, such as a marquee, gazebo or nearby building.

What’s on the menu?

Mexican street food and drinks: tacos and build-your-own taco bars, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas, with salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.

Do you have vegan options?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Tell us your numbers when you ask for a quote, and we’ll keep their options separate.

How much space do you need?

Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, and a route in it can fit through, and the venue’s agreement. We confirm power and water with you for each booking.

How spicy is the food?

The food can be kept mild, with hotter salsas on the side for anyone who wants more heat.

Should I do it myself?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Diets, allergies and planning

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Have tables and seats ready for guests to eat at
  • Agree the serving spot with your venue early
  • Have anyone with a severe allergy speak to us first
  • Give us separate numbers for children

We warm tortillas in batches and keep the fillings hot.

Our drinks bar can sit alongside the taco bar with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.
