About our taco bar hire in Manston

We bring taco bars to events in and around Manston: from barns and marquees to gardens, halls and offices, wherever there is room for the table. It suits back-garden gatherings and wedding day food, with slow-cooked fillings kept hot, burrito bowls and fresh salsas.

In a small place like Manston, a taco bar might go in a garden, a barn or a nearby hall. If lanes or soft ground stop the truck getting close, the station can be set up nearer your guests, though we still need to unload within a short walk. We serve from the hatch of our food truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

  • Space beside the truck or trailer if you’re booking both

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before you book.

  • Tortilla chips
  • Two to four fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Vegan fillings

Prices and what affects them

Your quote will be clear. The main things that affect it are:

  • Whether you need disposables
  • Timings and hours
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food

What’s on the menu makes a difference to the total, so share your ideas with us. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

Getting an accurate quote

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • Diets and allergies you know about

Send us the date, your venue or CT12 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and you will get menu ideas and a price. To get started, send a quick message through our quote form.

Taco bar hire in Manston: local tips

Manston is about 2 miles west of Ramsgate, in Kent. For an event in Manston, we can park up at venues, fields, drives and courtyards in and around Manston. Manston is one of 922 places in Kent we cover. You can also see our page for Canterbury, about 13 miles away.

When the service is at a church such as St. Catherine's Church, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church. Nearby historic houses include Quex Park (2.5 miles north-west). If your event is at a historic house or estate, ask early whether a staffed taco bar is allowed and where we could unload. With the sea within about 3 miles, a taco bar at a coastal venue is an option. Open toppings and a sea breeze do not mix, so a sheltered or indoor spot is best.

This part of Kent takes in CT12, so your event can be anywhere in it. Your event could be at a home on High Street, The Meadows and Manston Road. For events just outside Manston, we cover Haine (1 mile north-east), Flete (1 mile north), Newington (1 mile east), Cliffs End (1 mile south) and Chilton (1 mile south-east). We also cater in nearby towns such as Canterbury (13 miles west), Dover (15 miles south), Broadstairs (3 miles east), Whitstable (15 miles west), Deal (9 miles south) and Herne Bay (10 miles west).

A little further out are Spitfire and Hurricane Memorial Museum (0.9 miles west) and Ramsgate General Hospital (2.1 miles south-east). Green spaces nearby include Sandwich and Pegwell Bay.

  • Local schools include The Royal Harbour Academy (1.8 miles east)
  • Local pubs include Lord of the Manor pub (0.9 miles south-east)
  • Local facilities include Margate West (2.6 miles north)

How it compares

A sandwich platter is easy to order but rarely remembered. Warm tortillas and hot fillings give a lunch more to talk about. Extras, such as more dishes, extra drinks or a longer service, are quoted on request, so you choose what goes in.

Questions from Manston

Is it possible to have you in Sandwich and Pegwell Bay?

Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Check with them, and we’ll provide what they ask for from us.

Could you come to a seaside event near Manston?

Yes, with permission for the spot and firm ground for the truck or trailer. Seafront and beach spots normally need permission, and wind is the main thing to plan for.

Is a taco bar good for vegans and gluten-free guests?

Fillings and toppings sit in separate dishes, which helps with mixed diets, though we cannot guarantee there are no traces of any allergen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us first.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. Ask us if you’d like help with anything else.

What do you serve?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings might include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. Our sample menu has more ideas.

How spicy is the food?

That’s your choice: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.

Can we have a build-your-own taco bar?

Yes, a taco bar is one of our options. Let us know your numbers and space and we will recommend how to serve.

How many guests can a taco bar serve?

Truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers and we’ll plan the bar around them.

How it works

Once service is over, we pack up and leave our area tidy. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. Evenings in Manston stay light until about 9:15pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:00pm. After dusk, lights over the station help guests build their tacos.

  1. Send us your date, where the taco bar will go, numbers and dietary needs.
  2. We plan the fillings and toppings with you and quote for them.
  3. We agree where the table goes and where our vehicle can unload.
  4. On the day our staff lay out the bar and keep it stocked while guests build their tacos.
  5. After the last tacos, we clear the station away.

Before we arrive

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve

Planning help

Planning for every diet

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Confirm a loading spot close to the bar
  • Let us know about anyone who is coeliac
  • Send us allergy details in writing

After the last plate, we take the bar down, then load our vehicle.

Burrito bowls sit well on the bar for anyone avoiding tortillas.
