How our taco bar hire works in New Charlton

A taco bar puts the whole spread on one table: warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings. Guests pick up a plate and build their own. It works well for garden parties and milestone birthdays, serving burrito bowls, slow-cooked fillings kept hot and warm corn and flour tortillas.

London gardens are often reached only through the house, and many venues in New Charlton have no vehicle access to the room. The station can go where the truck can’t, as long as the venue agrees, and the route from our parking spot to the station needs to be clear. Your quote sets out what’s included: the menu, the service time and any extras you choose.

Choosing a Mexican caterer

Questions from New Charlton

Is parking a problem for events in New Charlton?

It can be tricky, so tell us about parking bays, permits or a driveway. Some streets may need a parking suspension from the council, and all of Greater London is inside the ULEZ.

Which station is closest to New Charlton?

New Charlton has its own station: Charlton station.

Do you cook on site?

We cook to order in our food truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

Do you cater in New Charlton?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, and New Charlton is within our area. To check your date, send us your details through our quote form.

Can you set up where a truck can’t get in?

The taco bar can sit next to the truck or trailer, or in a spot of its own. We need a nearby place to unload, plus the venue’s agreement.

What do you need at the venue?

Room for the table and a queue, plus a nearby place to unload. We confirm power and water when you book.

What happens if it rains?

We can keep serving from the truck or trailer in the rain, but your guests will want somewhere covered, such as a marquee, gazebo or nearby building.

Can we have a build-your-own taco bar?

Yes, a taco bar is one of the ways we serve. Let us know your numbers and space and we’ll recommend how to serve.

How we price taco bar hire

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • Food, drinks or both
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • The menu you choose

Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, because it needs no venue kitchen. Ask us for a quote.

What we need to know

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • The date and time of the event
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both

It’s easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We will send you a clear quote.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:

  • Send us allergy details in writing
  • Ensure guests have somewhere to sit
  • Fit the bar into your running order
  • Check where our vehicle can unload

If speeches or timings run over, we keep the fillings hot and start when you’re ready.

Our food truck or trailer can serve later in the day, after the taco bar, quoted with the rest.

How it works

The truck or trailer needs a level, firm spot with access to drive in, and we agree power and water arrangements before the day. Send us a photo of the space if you are unsure. In New Charlton, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:05pm in late September, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, plan good lighting over the station.

  1. Begin with the date and headcount.
  2. We agree a menu that covers every diet.
  3. Nearer the date, we confirm timings and the serving spot.
  4. Service starts when your running order says.
  5. We clear our station when service ends.

Preparing for the day

  • Find out what power and water are available
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

Can I do a taco night myself?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

Where the truck can go in New Charlton

No two venues are the same, so we’ll ask about yours when you contact us. Generally, we look for:

  • A short, clear path for carrying the bar in
  • Room for guests to queue along the table
  • A spot next to the truck or trailer when both are booked

As a London location, New Charlton is inside the ULEZ, and parking and loading take planning: tell us about parking bays, permits, a driveway or whether a parking suspension is needed.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise before booking.
