Taco bar hire in Northdown

Taco bar hire or something else?

The difference between a taco bar and truck service is who builds the taco. From the truck, we put each order together; at the taco bar, guests do the building. Larger events can cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

Why us?

  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar
  • Service planned around your numbers
  • Menus for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests
  • Quoted for your event

How our taco bar hire works in Northdown

The bar can stand beside our food truck or trailer, or on its own. Where a vehicle can’t reach the serving spot, we unload nearby and set the table up there, as long as the venue agrees. For leaving dos and milestone birthdays, we’ll put together a menu of burrito bowls, warm corn and flour tortillas and guacamole.

In and around Northdown, a taco bar works beside the truck or in a hall nearby. Where access is tight, the truck stays nearby and the station goes where your guests are. Every guest is catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included, and we give allergen information for every dish.

The process

We take care of everything you’ve booked, from set-up to service, so you can enjoy your event. In Northdown, the sun sets at about 9:15pm in late June and about 7:00pm in late September, so an outdoor taco bar in summer is usually served in daylight. In December it is dark by about 3:50pm, so guests will need light to see the fillings and toppings.

  1. Share a few details about the event.
  2. You get a suggested taco-bar menu and a quote.
  3. Access, power and water are agreed beforehand.
  4. We arrive, unload and lay out warm tortillas, fillings and toppings.
  5. Afterwards, we pack down and leave the area tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day

Questions from Northdown

What’s the nearest station to Northdown for guests?

Guests can use Broadstairs station, about 1.8 miles south of Northdown.

Could you serve our guests after a service at St Philip?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Do you clear up afterwards?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Let us know the venue’s rules on waste and we will talk it through.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we do that for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

How do you handle dietary needs at the taco bar?

Fillings and toppings sit in separate dishes, which helps with mixed diets, but we can’t promise an allergen-free kitchen. Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

Do you cook on site?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

How does taco bar hire work?

A serving table is laid with warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and guests build their own tacos. Our staff keep it hot and topped up.

Can you keep it mild?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

How to compare caterers

Working with your venue

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can check the date.

What affects the price in Northdown

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • How many guests we’re serving
  • Staff for serving and the bar
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Whether you need disposables

Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

What to tell us

Good planning starts with a few facts. Try to include:

  • The date and rough timings
  • A photo of the space, if it is a garden or field
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

To get a price, just drop us a line using the enquiry form. Tell us about your event in Northdown, and we will suggest a menu to suit.

Planning for every diet

We take diets and allergies seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Let us know about anyone who is coeliac
  • Make sure guests have somewhere to sit
  • Include a dietary question on your invitations
  • Pick the spot for the taco bar in advance

Dishes are labelled, with allergen information available at the table.

Add burrito bowls for guests who’d rather skip tortillas.

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we ask about the space before we confirm. In general, we need:

  • A spot next to the truck or trailer when both are booked
  • A parking or loading spot near the serving area
  • A clear route from the vehicle to the serving spot

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we offer

  • Two to four fillings
  • Vegan fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Tortilla chips

DIY taco night or a caterer?

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
