Taco bar hire in Speen

How our taco bar hire works in Speen

Our staff set up the taco bar and look after it through service: keeping the fillings hot, warming tortillas and topping up the bowls. Your hosts can stay with their guests. It works well for marquee parties and garden parties, serving warm corn and flour tortillas, guacamole and pickled onions and toppings.

In a hamlet or village like Speen, a barn or marquee can shelter a taco bar from the weather. Our staff set up the station and run it through service. We will check the space, access and power with you before the day, so set-up goes smoothly.

If a space is not suitable, we’ll tell you, and help find another spot. What matters most:

  • A clear route from the vehicle to the serving spot
  • Permission from the venue for us to set up
  • Room for guests to queue along the table

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

Popular choices

  • Vegan fillings
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Two to four fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Corn and flour tortillas

How the day works

Serving is quick: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. When service ends, we pack down. Evenings in Speen stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:05pm. Once it gets dark, guests need to see what they’re adding to their tacos.

  1. Begin with the date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. Nearer the date, we confirm timings and the serving spot.
  4. Service starts when your running order says.
  5. We clear our station when service ends.

Getting ready for the day

Questions from Speen

Which station is closest to Speen?

Guests can use Saunderton station, about 2.1 miles south-west of Speen.

Do you come to events in the Chilterns National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Can you cater in a back garden?

Yes, if the truck or trailer can get in and park on level, firm ground. Send us a photo of the access and the space.

Do you come to Speen?

We do. Speen is one of the places we cover. Send us your date to check availability.

What do you need at the venue?

Room for the table and a queue, plus a nearby place to unload. We confirm power and water when you book.

How many guests can a taco bar serve?

Our service normally suits around 50 to 400 guests, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Share your headcount and we’ll size the bar to suit.

How much space do you need?

Access and level ground matter most: a firm spot for the truck or trailer, room for a queue and, for a taco bar, space for a serving table. Send us a photo and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Tell us your numbers when you ask for a quote, and we will keep their options separate.

Diets, allergies and planning

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Agree the serving spot with your venue early
  • Include a dietary question on your invitations
  • Let us know about anyone who is coeliac
  • Set out seating near the bar

Dishes are labelled, with allergen information available at the table.

Burrito bowls sit well on the bar for anyone avoiding tortillas.

Organising for someone else?

For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so everyone is served promptly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

A build-your-own taco bar in Speen

Speen is about 5 miles north of High Wycombe, in Buckinghamshire. Give us the address of your event in Speen, and we’ll plan access and set-up. We serve in all 263 towns and villages across Buckinghamshire, wherever the truck or trailer can get in.

By rail: Saunderton station is about 2.1 miles away. When the service is at a church such as Speen Church (Baptist), the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church. The Chilterns National Landscape is within about 4 miles of Speen, with barns and country venues that could host a taco bar. Where vehicles can’t reach the room, the station can be set up there with the venue’s agreement, but we still need to unload close by.

This part of Buckinghamshire takes in HP27, so your event can be anywhere in it. Streets in the area include St Peters Close, Studridge Lane and Chapel Hill, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. Neighbouring places where we cater events include Upper North Dean (1 mile south-east), Bryant's Bottom (1 mile east), Walter's Ash (1 mile south), Lower North Dean (1 mile south-east) and Stony Green (1 mile east). Within a short drive, we also cover Aylesbury (9 miles north), High Wycombe (5 miles south), Chesham (8 miles east), Marlow (8 miles south), Amersham (8 miles east) and Beaconsfield (8 miles south-east).

A little further out are Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre (3.4 miles east) and Great Kimble Dial Hill (3.9 miles north). Not far away are Beacon Hill and Prestwood Local Nature Reserve.

  • Nearby, you’ll find King William IV Public House (within half a mile north)

Guacamole goes quickly on a taco bar.

Warm tortillas

Every taco starts with a warm tortilla. We warm them as the bar needs them through service.

Taco bar hire or something else?

A sandwich platter is easy to order but rarely remembered. A hot taco bar gives guests something to gather round. The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.
