Upper Hardres questions

Do you cater in villages like Upper Hardres?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Could you set up a taco bar in a hall near Upper Hardres?

We can, as long as the venue agrees. The station needs room for a queue, and we need to park and unload close to the door.

What if a vehicle cannot reach the serving spot?

The bar can stand on its own, away from the truck or trailer. We still need to park our vehicle nearby to unload, and the venue’s agreement.

How much is a taco bar?

Every taco bar is quoted for individually, depending on guests, menu, venue and timings. For a price, fill in our quote form.

Can guests build their own tacos?

Yes. A build-your-own taco bar can be served from the truck or a serving station, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings. Read our taco bar guide.

What do you need at the venue?

Access and level ground matter most: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. Send us a photo and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we check every dish and give allergen information.

How is the food prepared?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. The tortillas are warmed on site, and the salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

The menu, item by item

Toppings

Toppings let guests finish their tacos their way, and dairy-free choices are kept apart.

Vegan fillings

Spiced mushroom, or black bean and sweet potato, cooked separately.

The process

The truck or trailer needs a level, firm spot with access to drive in, and we agree power and water arrangements before the day. Send us a photo of the space if you are unsure. A December taco bar in Upper Hardres will be in the dark from about 3:50pm, so an indoor spot or a well-lit station works best. At midsummer, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:15pm.

  1. Get in touch with your date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. We fix timings with you and the venue.
  4. Service starts when your running order says.
  5. We clear our station when service ends.

Getting ready for the day

  • Tell us when you want service to start
  • Confirm numbers and diets before the day
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain

For event organisers in Upper Hardres

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so guests are looked after quickly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

If you’re planning an event on someone’s behalf, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Catering for every guest

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Have anyone with a severe allergy speak to us first
  • Set out seating near the bar
  • Collect dietary needs with your replies
  • Check where our vehicle can unload

If the schedule slips, tell us and we will hold everything hot until you’re ready.

Burrito bowls sit well on the bar for anyone avoiding tortillas.

Space, access and the venue

We will agree the spot with you before the day. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • Cover overhead if the bar is outdoors
  • A short, clear path for carrying the bar in
  • Permission from the venue for us to set up

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Popular choices

  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Tortilla chips
  • Vegan fillings
  • Two to four fillings

  • Travel, parking and access
  • Serving staff
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food

  • Expected numbers
  • The date and time of the event
  • What you’d like on the menu

Send us the date, your venue or CT4 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, fill in our quote form.
