Taco bar hire for Walter's Green events

Taco bar hire in Walter's Green, served fresh

A taco bar suits mixed diets well, because every filling and topping sits in its own dish. We plan vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free choices, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests. It suits wedding breakfasts and retirement parties, with a build-your-own taco bar, burrito bowls and warm corn and flour tortillas.

In a hamlet or village like Walter's Green, a barn or marquee can shelter a taco bar from the weather. Our staff set up the station and run it through service; tell us about access and parking. We arrive ready to serve, and clear our own area when service is finished.

Taco bar hire in Walter's Green: local tips

Walter's Green is about 5 miles west of Royal Tunbridge Wells, in Kent. Across the TN11 area, we can serve your guests, as long as there’s access. Walter's Green is one of 922 towns and villages in Kent where we can bring taco bar hire.

Close to Walter's Green are historic houses such as Penshurst Place (2.1 miles north-east) and Groombridge Place (2.4 miles south-east). Historic venues often limit where vehicles can go, so ask whether a taco bar station could be set up inside while our truck or trailer parks further off. When the service is at a church such as Church of St Peter, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church. The High Weald National Landscape is within about 7 miles of Walter's Green, with barns and country venues that could host a taco bar. Where vehicles cannot reach the room, the station can be set up there with the venue’s agreement, but we still need to unload close by.

Anywhere in TN11, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests, from busy streets to quiet lanes. Neighbouring places where we cater events include Fordcombe (1 mile south-east), Teasley Mead (1 mile south-west), Ashurst (1 mile south), Stone Cross (1 mile south-east) and Chiddingstone Hoath (1 mile north-west). Larger places within reach include Sevenoaks (9 miles north), Royal Tunbridge Wells (5 miles east), Tonbridge (6 miles north-east), Kings Hill (14 miles north-east), Paddock Wood (10 miles east) and Southborough (4 miles east).

Other landmarks nearby include Chiddingstone Castle (2.8 miles north) and Kent and Sussex Hospital (4.3 miles east). The countryside around Walter's Green includes Broadwater Warren RSPB Reserve.

The menu, item by item

Vegan fillings

Black bean and sweet potato, or spiced mushrooms, cooked separately.

Salsas

A row of salsas, mild to hot.

Diets, allergies and planning

A little planning makes sure everyone can eat. Try these:

  • Plan the taco bar around speeches and timings
  • Put allergies in writing for us
  • Have anyone with a severe allergy speak to us first
  • Flag any guest with coeliac disease

We get there early enough to unload, lay out the table and heat everything through.

Burrito bowls sit well on the bar for anyone avoiding tortillas.

Prices and what affects them

We quote for your event, and the price is based on:

  • The length of service
  • Food, drinks or both
  • Travel, parking and access
  • The number of people

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

Details that help

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what to include:

  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • The address or venue name
  • Expected numbers

We quote for each event separately, based on what you need. For a quote, use our quote form.

FAQs for Walter's Green

Do you cater in villages like Walter's Green?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking for the truck or trailer.

Which station is closest to Walter's Green?

Ashurst Kent station, about 1.3 miles south of the centre.

Can you cater in a back garden?

It depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Send us a picture and we’ll talk it through.

Do you do a taco bar?

We can. We can set up a build-your-own taco bar, served from the truck or a serving table, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings.

Are plates and napkins included?

That’s confirmed with each quote. Let us know what the venue supplies and we will talk it through.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

Our menus are planned with allergies in mind, nut allergies included, with allergen information for every dish. We keep options separate, but we cannot promise anything is completely allergen-free. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

Which areas do you serve?

We cover London and the South East, including Kent. See all areas.

How the day works

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. Guests come up to order when service opens. A December taco bar in Walter's Green will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so an indoor spot or a well-lit station works best. At midsummer, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:20pm.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, how many guests and any diets.
  2. We plan the fillings and toppings with you and quote for them.
  3. Before the day, we confirm the serving spot, unloading, power and water with the venue.
  4. Our staff set up the station, keep the fillings hot and top up the bar through service.
  5. Once guests have eaten, we take down the bar and leave the spot tidy.

How to prepare

  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Find out what power and water are available

Questions to ask before booking

For planners, venues and organisers

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can plan ahead.

If you are organising for someone else, whether you are a planner, an office manager or an event organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.

Planning the serving area

We’ll be honest if a space will not work. The main points are:

  • A sheltered spot if we are serving outside
  • Details of power and water near the bar
  • A short, clear path for carrying the bar in

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly.
