How our taco bar hire works in Winslow

We bring taco bars to events in and around Winslow: marquees, barns, gardens, halls and workplaces. For birthday parties and back-garden gatherings, we can serve a build-your-own taco bar, guacamole and fresh salsas.

For a place the size of Winslow, a garden or a hall nearby can suit a taco bar. We set up and run the station, and guests choose their own fillings and toppings. Let us know about the drive and parking. We plan the timings around your day, whether that is speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

Winslow questions

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Laurence?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

How far is Winslow from London?

It’s about 46 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Which areas do you serve?

We cover London and the South East, Buckinghamshire included. Find your area.

Do you need electricity?

It depends on the event and the set-up, so we confirm power and water arrangements with each booking. Tell us what’s available at your venue.

What do you need at the venue?

A level spot for the serving table, room to queue and somewhere close to unload our vehicle. Power and water are confirmed with each booking.

Do you cater for vegetarian guests?

Yes. We can include vegetarian and vegan fillings like black beans or spiced mushrooms.

How does a taco bar work?

Guests take a plate and fill their tortillas from the dishes on the bar. We run the bar from set-up to pack-down.

Do you stay to run the taco bar?

Our staff set up the bar, keep the fillings hot and top up the dishes.

How it works

We need a level, firm spot we can drive the truck or trailer onto, with power and water arrangements agreed beforehand. A photo of the space helps. A December taco bar in Winslow will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so set the station up where the lighting is good. At midsummer, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:25pm.

  1. Start with the essentials: the date, venue, headcount and diets.
  2. You get a suggested taco-bar spread and a quote.
  3. Together we fix the spot for the taco bar and a nearby place for our vehicle.
  4. We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and guests help themselves.
  5. Once guests have eaten, we take down the bar and leave the spot tidy.

Organising for someone else?

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can check the date.

Black bean and sweet potato, or spiced mushrooms.

How we price taco bar hire

We will give you a clear quote. What affects it most:

  • The menu you choose
  • Timings and hours
  • How many staff you need
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery

The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.

Getting an accurate quote

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • The date and time of the event
  • Where the event is
  • Expected numbers
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers

Send us the date, your venue or MK18 postcode and guest numbers, plus any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just send us your details through our quote form.

Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, most diets are easy. Our advice:

  • Choose at least one vegan filling
  • Ask the venue where we can park to unload
  • Put guests with serious allergies in touch with us early
  • Set out seating near the bar

If speeches or timings run over, we keep the fillings hot and start when you are ready.

Our truck or trailer can serve later in the day, after the taco bar.

Should I do it myself?

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Space, access and the venue

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but there are a few things to check:

  • A short, clear path for carrying the bar in
  • A flat spot for the taco-bar station
  • A parking or loading spot near the serving area

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

Menu ideas

  • Two to four fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Tortilla chips
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Vegan fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas

Comparing your options

For a meal that is hands-on for guests but not for you, a taco bar suits events in Winslow well. Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Contact us for a quote.
