FAQs for World's End

Will you travel to a small place like World's End?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

How far is World's End from London?

It is about 52 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

When do you arrive?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. Serving times are agreed with you in advance, along with pack-down.

Is the food suitable for children?

Yes, children are easy to plan for. Let us know numbers and ages, and we’ll plan the menu with them in mind.

What space does a taco bar need?

Send us details of the venue and where you’d like the bar, and we’ll confirm what’s needed. The venue’s agreement is needed too.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

We can. We offer dairy-free options.

How much is a food truck for an event?

The price depends on numbers, menu, service time and where your event is. Send us the details for a quote.

Can you set up where a truck can’t get in?

The taco bar can sit next to the truck or trailer, or in a spot of its own. We need a nearby place to unload, plus the venue’s agreement.

Taco bar hire in World's End, from our food truck or trailer

Add burrito bowls, loaded nachos or quesadillas if you’d like more choice. Margaritas and aguas frescas from our drinks bar can be added, with licensing checked with you. At garden parties and engagement and anniversary parties, we can serve pickled onions and toppings, a build-your-own taco bar and slow-cooked fillings kept hot and more.

Near World's End, a taco bar next to the truck in a field or garden works well. Let us know about the gate, the ground and the route in, and we confirm power and water arrangements before the day. Everything is prepared fresh for your event and served from our food truck or trailer.

What happens on the day

Once service is over, we pack up and leave our area tidy. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. Evenings in World's End stay light until about 9:25pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:10pm. After dusk, lights over the station help guests build their tacos.

  1. Start with the essentials: the date, venue, headcount and diets.
  2. We plan the fillings and toppings with you and quote for them.
  3. Together we fix the spot for the taco bar and a nearby place for our vehicle.
  4. We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and guests help themselves.
  5. Once guests have eaten, we take down the bar and leave the spot tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day

Taco bars for events around World's End

World's End is about 6 miles north of Thatcham, in West Berkshire. Across the RG20 area, we can serve your guests. We cater in 155 places in West Berkshire, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. We cater right across the region, from World's End to Reading (14 miles away).

World's End is within about 4 miles of the North Wessex Downs National Landscape, with barns and country venues that could host a taco bar. Where vehicles cannot reach the room, the station can be set up there with the venue’s agreement, but we still need to unload close by.

We cater events across the RG20 postcode area. Whether your event is on Russet Way, Old Street and The Blossoms or a nearby road, we will plan where to park and serve. For events just outside World's End, we cover Beedon (1 mile north), Downend (1 mile south-west), Chieveley (2 miles south-west), Peasemore (2 miles west) and North Heath (2 miles south-west). Planning the serving area

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We look for:

  • A clear area in front of the station
  • Space beside the truck or trailer if you are booking both
  • The venue’s agreement for the taco bar and our vehicle

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Menu ideas

  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Tortilla chips
  • Vegan fillings
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Two to four fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas

For planners, venues and organisers

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

Events in public spaces, like parks, typically need permission. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Can I do a taco night myself?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

About the menu

Vegan fillings

Black bean and sweet potato, or spiced mushrooms.

Warm tortillas

Corn and flour tortillas, warmed through in batches so there is always one ready. The corn ones suit gluten-free guests.

How we price taco bar hire

Your quote will be clear. The main things that affect it are:

  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • How many staff you need
  • Guest numbers

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

What we need to know

A few details help us give you an accurate quote. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Where the event is
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both

Still deciding on the menu? That is fine: give us the basics about your event, and we’ll make suggestions. When you’re ready, send a quick message through our quote form.

Who books taco bar hire in World's End?

Guests choose exactly what goes on their plate.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Common bookings include:

  • Birthday celebrations
  • Marquee parties
  • Wedding breakfasts
  • Team socials

When the service is at a church such as Church of St Nicholas, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church.

Before you book anyone

  • How long the service runs
  • If the price includes VAT
  • Whether travel is included
  • The deposit and payment dates
