Wedding Mexican catering near Aldgate

Wedding Mexican catering in Aldgate, from our truck or trailer

Mixed diets are easier with a Mexican wedding menu: there are vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free options, corn tortillas for gluten-free guests and allergen information for every dish. We serve a taco bar for the wedding breakfast, tacos and fresh guacamole and salsas, which works well for receptions after a small ceremony and day-after wedding get-togethers.

London weddings around Aldgate often mean a ceremony at a church or register office, then a reception at a hired venue. For a truck or trailer, the venue needs a courtyard, forecourt or car park we can drive into, so check vehicle access with the venue early. Parking and loading in London need planning, and all of Greater London is inside the ULEZ. We serve from the hatch of our food truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

The process

The truck or trailer tends to draw a crowd, so we plan a spot with space for people to queue. We can serve in the rain, though guests will want somewhere covered to stand or sit. Golden-hour photos in Aldgate at midsummer come around 9:20pm, so we can time the evening food around your photos. In late May, sunset is about 8:50pm, and in late September about 7:05pm.

  1. Send us your wedding date, venue and numbers.
  2. We plan the wedding breakfast, evening food or both with you.
  3. Timings are agreed with your venue.
  4. We serve at the agreed points in the day.
  5. We clear our area once service ends.

Getting ready for the day

  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

How to compare caterers

Before you choose a spot

No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand
  • Clear vehicle access: gate widths, height limits and the ground checked before the day
  • Power and water, which we confirm with you for each booking

Aldgate is in London, inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, which covers all of Greater London, and parking can be tight: tell us about parking bays, permits, a driveway or whether a parking suspension is needed.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before booking.

What wedding Mexican catering costs

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Whether you need disposables
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • How many staff you need
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food

The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

What we need to know

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Your menu ideas
  • A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field
  • Expected numbers
  • Your date and when you want service to start

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. Contact us for a quote: just fill in our quote form.

How it compares

A taco bar is less formal than a plated meal, but with good presentation it still feels special. Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so share your ideas with us. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Count day and evening guests separately
  • Flag any coeliac guests or serious allergies
  • Confirm the venue’s catering rules early
  • Ask about diets and allergies with your RSVPs

If speeches or photos run over, tell us, and we will adjust when we serve.

Nachos to share work well later in the evening.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Aldgate: your questions answered

Could you serve in Finsbury Circus?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

Which station should guests use for Aldgate?

Aldgate has its own station: London Fenchurch Street station.

Can we add margaritas?

Our drinks bar can be added. We’ll check the licensing with you and your venue.

How spicy is the food?

It’s up to you: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately.

Do you do evening food as well as the main meal?

We can cater as much or as little of the day as you like. Share your plans and we’ll suggest a menu.

Can you feed our photographer and band?

Of course. Include suppliers in your numbers and we will plan for them.

Can you do dairy-free food?

Yes, we can. Tell us how many guests need dairy-free food, and we will include them in the plan.

What food and drinks do you offer?

Mexican street food: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. A drinks bar is available too, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.

Planners, venues and businesses

Events in public spaces, like parks, usually need permission. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We are happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.
