Wedding Mexican catering in Penn Street, served fresh

Wedding taco bars feel relaxed, generous and a little different. Guests build their own plates from warm tortillas, fillings, salsas and toppings, and the queue becomes a chance to chat. It works well for blessings and vow renewals and engagement parties, with a taco bar for the wedding breakfast, fresh guacamole and salsas and evening tacos.

There’s something special about a country wedding near Penn Street, and tacos served from a truck in a field add to it. Plan access, ground and cover in case of rain. Guests are served from our food truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan the service around your numbers.

Your questions about wedding Mexican catering in Penn Street

Do you cater in the Chilterns National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Which station should guests use for Penn Street?

Guests can use Amersham station, about 2.6 miles north-east of Penn Street.

Can you liaise with the venue coordinator?

Of course. We are happy to talk to your venue about access, timings, power and water.

Do you have vegan options?

Of course. Vegetarian and vegan fillings, such as spiced mushrooms or black beans, can be part of the menu, served alongside the meat options.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but our truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. For anything outside that, ask us.

Can we add margaritas?

You can add our drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. Your venue’s licence or a Temporary Event Notice will be needed for alcohol, and we’ll check that with you.

What do you serve?

Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings might include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. See our menu for ideas.

How spicy is the food?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

Planning the serving area

No two venues are the same, so we will ask about yours before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a catering vehicle
  • Access wide and high enough to drive in, with gates and soft lawns checked first
  • Space for guests to queue

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What wedding Mexican catering costs

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • How long we’re needed on site
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • How many guests we’re serving
  • Your choice of food and drinks

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Your quote confirms the full price.

What we need to know

To speed things up, tell us:

  • What you’d like on the menu
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • The date and rough timings

Not sure what you need yet? That is fine: tell us about the occasion and the guests, and we will make suggestions. When you’re ready, fill in our quote form.

The process

Here’s how the day usually runs: we arrive and set up, we open the hatch when you are ready, and your guests are served fresh until service ends. By late September, sunset in Penn Street is around 7:05pm, which can put the evening food just after dusk. A late-May wedding keeps its light until roughly 8:55pm.

  1. We start with your date, venue, guest numbers and ideas for the day.
  2. Together we choose a taco bar, evening food or both, and we send a quote.
  3. We confirm access, the serving spot and the running order with the venue.
  4. On the day we set up and serve when your running order says.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Getting ready for the day

  • Find out what power and water are available
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. When you’re ready, use our quote form.

Catering for every guest

Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:

  • Let us know about severe allergies in writing
  • Have cover for guests if the weather turns
  • Let us know about supplier meals
  • Introduce us to your venue coordinator

Allergen information is available for every dish, and every dish is labelled.

A wider choice of salsas and toppings fills out the taco bar.

Planners, venues and businesses

Choosing a Mexican caterer

Should I do it myself?

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
