Planning an event in Belmont?

Belmont: parking, access and venues

Belmont is about 1 mile south-east of Hastings, in East Sussex. Tell us where your event in Belmont will be, and we’ll plan access and set-up. Belmont is one of 289 places in East Sussex where we can bring food truck hire. You can also see our page for Royal Tunbridge Wells, about 24 miles away.

Colleagues or friends without a car may like to know that the nearest station is Ore station, about 0.5 miles north. Roughly 53 miles separate Belmont from central London, close enough for a London team’s away day. The coast is within about a mile of Belmont, so a hired food truck at a seaside venue is an option. The truck or trailer needs firm ground rather than sand or shingle, and seafront spots typically need permission.

Here we cover the TN34 and TN35 postcode area, so your event can be anywhere in it. Streets in the area include Crown Lane, Croft Road and Manor Road, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. Neighbouring places where we cater events include Hastings Old Town (1 mile south), Rock-a-Nore (1 mile south-east), America Ground (1 mile south-west), Blacklands (1 mile north-west) and St Helen's (1 mile north-west). Within a short drive, we also cover Eastbourne (14 miles west), Bexhill-on-Sea (5 miles west), Hailsham (15 miles west), Polegate (15 miles west), Old Town (15 miles south-west) and Upper Horsebridge (15 miles west).

Other landmarks nearby include Priory Meadow Shopping Centre (less than half a mile south-west) and Hastings Castle (within half a mile south-west). Green spaces nearby include Church Wood and Robsack Wood.

  • Local schools include University School (0.8 miles west) and William Parker Sports College (1.4 miles north-west)
  • Pubs nearby include The Roebuck Inn (under half a mile south-east)

About our food truck hire in Belmont

Our drinks bar can be hired with the truck with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas, with licensing checked with you. A build-your-own taco bar can sit beside the truck too. For leaving parties and launch events, we can serve burritos, loaded nachos and vegan tacos.

In a smaller place like Belmont, hiring our food truck for a party at home is often the easiest option: no venue hire, and guests order at the hatch. Let us know about the route to the house. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our truck or trailer.

FAQs for Belmont

Can you cater a reception after a service at Emmanuel Church?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Could you come to a seaside event near Belmont?

Yes, with permission for the spot and firm ground for the truck or trailer. Seafront and beach spots usually need permission, and wind is the main thing to plan for.

Where can the truck park?

Tell us where you’d like the truck, and we will check the access. Our guide to space and power has more.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes, gluten-free options are available, made with corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can explain how we prepare their food. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

Do you sell to the public at private events?

Private hire means we serve only your guests, on a menu and timings agreed with you. At festivals and markets we trade to the public; see our street food catering page.

How many guests can you serve?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. For anything outside that, ask us.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, serving margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas such as hibiscus and horchata, and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we will talk licensing through with you.

What’s on the menu?

Mexican street food: tacos and build-your-own taco bars, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Catering for every guest

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. We suggest:

  • Let us know who is coeliac
  • Ask guests about dietary needs when they reply
  • Agree service times with us
  • Ask about parking rules if we will be on a road

We keep allergen information for every dish at the hatch, so guests can ask before ordering.

Ask us about napkins, plates and cutlery and we’ll confirm what’s possible.

About the menu

Burrito bowls

Rice, beans, a filling and toppings in a bowl.

Salsas and guacamole

Guests can add salsa and guacamole to taste.

How we price food truck hire

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • The number of people
  • How many staff you need
  • Travel, parking and access

What’s on the menu makes a difference to the total, so share your ideas with us. We will suggest options to suit your budget.

Getting an accurate quote

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:

  • What power and water the site has
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • The date and time of the event
  • Roughly how many adults and children

Not sure what you need yet? No problem: give us the basics about your event, and we will suggest a menu. To start, send us your details through our quote form.

What happens on the day

We take care of everything you’ve booked, from set-up to service, so you can enjoy your event. Planning a private evening event in Belmont? Sunset is around 8:45pm in late May and 9:15pm in late June. After that, festoon lights or lamps near the truck help guests order.

  1. Send us your date, the address, a headcount and dietary needs.
  2. You get a hatch menu and a quote for the hire.
  3. Before the day, we agree the spot, the way in, power and water.
  4. We arrive, open the hatch and cook to order for your guests.
  5. When service ends, we pack up and leave the spot clear.

Before we arrive

  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

Planning help

Space, access and the venue

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We need:

  • A parking suspension, where a street spot is needed
  • Level, solid ground for the vehicle
  • Somewhere for guests to sit or stand and eat

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Organising for someone else?

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we’ll keep everyone informed on the day.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

How it compares

Hiring a food truck is different from finding one at a festival. At a festival we trade to the public; when you hire us, we serve only your guests, on your timings. Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll suggest a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

Why us?

  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both
  • We cover Belmont and the whole of East Sussex
  • A menu built around your guests
  • Quoted for your event

Take a look at our prices page or our guide to catering costs.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
