Planning food truck hire around Bexleyheath

Bexleyheath is about 3 miles south-east of Plumstead, in Greater London. Events in Bexleyheath are planned around your venue and timings: a clear quote, agreed timings and fresh service on the day. We serve in 764 places across Greater London, from the larger towns to small villages. You can also see our page for London, about 10 miles away.

Colleagues or friends without a car may like to know that Bexleyheath station is in Bexleyheath itself. A food truck in Danson Park would need the park owner’s agreement, so check that first.

Anywhere in DA7, DA6 and DA16, we can bring food truck hire to you. Streets in the area include Lion Road, Hyde Road and Upton Road, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. Close by, we cover events in Upton (1 mile west), Crook Log (1 mile west), Blendon (1 mile south-west), Bexley (1 mile south) and Welling (1 mile west). Larger places within reach include London (10 miles west), City of Westminster (13 miles west), Marylebone (13 miles west), Kensington (15 miles west), St Pancras (12 miles north-west) and Shoreditch (10 miles north-west).

A little further out are Broadway Shopping Centre (less than half a mile south-east) and Bexley Hospital (under half a mile west). Not far away are Summer Hill and Wansunt Pit.

  • Nearby schools include Bexleyheath Academy (within half a mile east) and St Catherine's Catholic School (0.9 miles south-east)

Dietary needs and planning tips

Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free included. To make it work smoothly:

  • Share your running order
  • Ask the venue about catering vehicles before you book
  • Ask guests with severe allergies to speak to us beforehand
  • Collect diets and allergies with your RSVPs

We drive in at the agreed time and park in the planned spot. Someone on site to meet us makes it smoother.

Our Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can join the truck.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

Events we cater in Bexleyheath

It’s a private hire, so there are no public queues and the menu is set for your guests.

Whatever the occasion, our food truck or trailer can be the centre of it. We are happy to cater:

  • Big birthdays
  • Engagement parties
  • Summer parties at home
  • Weddings

Guests leaving a church like Trinity Baptist Church could walk or drive to a nearby garden or hall where the truck is ready.

About the menu

Tacos from the hatch

Warm tortillas filled to order and finished with salsa, with fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga or spiced mushroom.

Salsas and guacamole

Fresh salsas and guacamole, made for your event.

Where the truck can go in Bexleyheath

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We need:

  • The landowner’s go-ahead for the truck or trailer
  • A flat parking spot on firm ground or hardstanding
  • Distance from houses and windows

In Bexleyheath, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Bexleyheath: your questions answered

Is food truck hire possible at a house in Bexleyheath?

It depends on the space: a drive, a courtyard or a parking bay suspended by the council can all work. Guests order at the hatch, so we also need room for a queue, and all of Greater London is inside the ULEZ.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Danson Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Popular dates go first, so it pays to ask early.

What food and drinks do you offer?

Mexican street food and drinks: tacos and build-your-own taco bars, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas, with salsas, guacamole and toppings. A drinks bar is available too.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

We confirm that with your quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables.

Is there a minimum number of guests?

Our truck and trailer service typically suits events of around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers.

What areas do you cover?

We cater across London and the South East, including Greater London. See all areas.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, using corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can explain how we prepare their food. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

The process

Serving is quick: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area. December events in Bexleyheath lose the light at about 3:50pm, so ask the venue about outdoor lighting where we will park. At midsummer, sunset is around 9:20pm.

  1. Send us your date, the address, a headcount and dietary needs.
  2. We check availability and send a menu and a quote for hiring the truck or trailer.
  3. Where the truck or trailer will stand, the route in, and power and water are all agreed in advance.
  4. We arrive, open the hatch and cook to order for your guests.
  5. After service, we close the hatch, pack down and drive away.

Getting ready for the day

  • Tell us what power and water the site has
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers

Food truck hire or something else?

Plated catering needs a kitchen tent, waiting staff and set courses. Our food truck or trailer brings the kitchen and serves from one hatch, needing level ground, access and the venue’s permission.
