Diets, allergies and planning

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Flag any coeliac guests
  • Add a dietary question to the invitation
  • Check early that your venue allows food trucks
  • Look into parking permissions if the truck cannot go off-road

Allergen information is available at the hatch for every dish, so guests can ask before ordering.

Our Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas can join the truck, with licensing checked with you.

Food truck hire in Binfield, from our truck or trailer

When you hire our food truck, it serves your guests and nobody else. It’s a private booking, not public trading, so the menu and timings are set around your event. We serve tacos from the hatch, burritos and quesadillas, which works well for family reunions and winter staff parties.

For a place the size of Binfield, food truck hire at your own home is often simplest: no venue hire, and guests order at the hatch. Let us know about the route to the house. Everything is prepared fresh for your event and served from our truck or trailer, so guests get it at its best.

Planning the serving area

Before the day, we will agree where we park and serve. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Parking arrangements if we are not on private land
  • Distance from houses and windows
  • A way in wide and high enough for the vehicle

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

Prices and what affects them

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • How many staff you need
  • The number of people
  • The length of service
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

What we need to know

When you contact us, it helps to tell us:

  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • The address or venue name
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground

We quote for each event separately, so the price fits what you actually want. To ask for one, use our quote form.

Common questions in Binfield

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Mark: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Tell us where the reception will be.

How far is Binfield from central London?

About 30 miles from central London.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

Please ask us. Let us know what you already have, and we will confirm what’s included with your quote.

Do you cover Binfield?

We do. We serve at events in Binfield and across Bracknell Forest. Tell us your date and we’ll check availability.

What food and drinks do you offer?

Every menu is agreed with you. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. See our menu for ideas.

Do you do a taco bar?

Yes. A build-your-own taco bar can be served from the truck or a serving station, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings. Read our taco bar guide.

Where do you cater?

We cover London and the South East, including Bracknell Forest. Find your area.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, with corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we check every dish and give allergen information.

How it compares

Several trucks mean several quotes and arrival times. One Mexican truck with a varied menu keeps things simple. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Your quote confirms the full price.

Why us?

  • Menus for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests
  • Served fresh from our food truck or trailer
  • Set-up planned with you and your venue
  • Allergen information for everything we serve

See our prices page and the cost guide.

Should I do it myself?

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.

About the menu

Quesadillas

Toasted tortillas with melted cheese and a filling, cut into wedges.

Loaded nachos

A tray of nachos works as a starter or a late snack.

Step by step

Expect a friendly, organised team. We agree arrival and serving times in advance, set up our food truck or trailer, and get on with serving. At midsummer, it stays light in Binfield until about 9:25pm, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:05pm. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Tell us what the event is and who’s coming.
  2. We suggest fillings and dishes for every diet.
  3. Power, water and timings are agreed with you or the venue.
  4. The truck serves at the agreed times.
  5. When everyone is fed, we clear our area.

Preparing for the day

  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
