  • Somewhere for guests to sit or stand and eat
  • Agreement from the venue to bring in a catering vehicle

Food truck hire in Charney Bassett, from our truck or trailer

The hatch menu is agreed with you: tacos and burritos, with bowls, nachos or quesadillas if you like, with fresh salsas and guacamole. For private parties in fields and grounds and staff summer parties, we’ll put together a menu of quesadillas, burrito bowls and vegan tacos.

Somewhere as small as Charney Bassett, food truck hire can mean a garden, a field or a barn. Lanes, gates and long drives are fine if we know about them. Firm ground matters, especially after rain. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Step by step

On the day, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. Service starts at the time we have agreed, planned around your event. A Christmas party in Charney Bassett with a hired food truck will be in the dark from about 4:00pm, so ask the venue about outdoor lighting where we will park. In late June, it stays light until about 9:25pm.

  1. Ask us whether your date is available.
  2. You get a menu for the hatch and a quote.
  3. The spot and the way in are agreed in advance.
  4. On the day, guests order at the hatch and we cook to order.
  5. We pack down and drive away when service ends.

How to prepare

  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough

FAQs for Charney Bassett

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St Peter?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Do you cater in villages like Charney Bassett?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Let us know about access and parking for the truck or trailer.

Do you sell to the public at private events?

When you hire us, the booking is yours, and we do not sell to the public. Event organisers should see street food for festivals.

How much space do you need?

Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, and a route in it can fit through, plus the venue’s permission. We confirm power and water with you for each booking.

When should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

Is the food suitable for children?

Yes, children are welcome. Tell us how many and roughly how old, and we’ll plan the menu with them in mind.

What food and drinks do you offer?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. See our menu for ideas.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

Yes, we can. Tell us how many guests need dairy-free food, and we’ll include them in the plan.

Loaded nachos

Crisp chips loaded with toppings, salsa and guacamole, for sharing.

Burrito bowls

Rice, beans, a filling and toppings in a bowl.

Catering for every guest

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Look into parking permissions if the truck can’t go off-road
  • Tell us when guests should eat
  • Let us know who is coeliac
  • Ask the venue about catering vehicles before booking

The hatch opens at the time you choose, and we cook each order as it comes.

Simple quesadillas suit younger guests, if you’d like a kids’ choice.

Organising for someone else?

Hosting a party at home? Send a photo of the space and tell us about access, and we’ll tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Contact us for a quote to compare.
