Food truck hire in Downside, served fresh

When you hire our food truck, it serves your guests and nobody else. Unlike a stall at a festival or market, it’s a private hire, so we plan the menu and service times around you. For end-of-year parties and leaving dos and retirements, we can serve fresh salsas and guacamole, vegan tacos and loaded nachos for your guests.

In a small place like Downside, a hired food truck might park in a garden, paddock or field. Lanes, gates and long drives are fine if we know about them. Firm ground matters, especially after rain. Access, space and power are agreed with you beforehand, so there are no surprises on arrival.

Should I do it myself?

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Planning for every diet

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Plan a covered area for guests to eat
  • Agree service times with us
  • Ask the venue about catering vehicles before you book
  • Count children separately

If your timings move, let us know and we’ll adjust service.

Nachos for sharing at the start.

Step by step

We take care of everything you’ve booked, from set-up to service, so you can spend time with your guests. By late September, it’s dark in Downside at around 7:05pm, so a later service will need some lighting. In late May, daylight lasts until about 8:55pm.

  1. Ask us whether your date is available.
  2. We agree a hatch menu and send a quote.
  3. The spot and the way in are agreed in advance.
  4. We drive in, open the hatch and serve your guests.
  5. After service, we close up and leave the spot clear.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers

What food truck hire costs

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, depending on:

  • Parking and the route in
  • What the venue already provides
  • The number of people
  • Timings and hours

There’s no one-size-fits-all price for food truck hire. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

Details that help

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what’s useful:

  • The date and rough timings
  • The address or venue name
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • Expected numbers

Send us the date, your venue or KT11 postcode and guest numbers, plus any dietary needs, and you’ll get menu ideas and a price. To get started, send us your details through our quote form.

Comparing your options

A private hire is not the same as a festival stall. At public events, anyone can buy; a private hire means your guests, your menu and your timings. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we will set out what’s included.
