About our food truck hire in Freeland

Fillings might include carnitas, al pastor-style pork or chicken tinga, alongside a vegan option such as spiced mushroom. We plan for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free diets. On the menu are vegan tacos, tacos from the hatch and fresh salsas and guacamole, and it suits garden parties and wedding receptions.

In a rural place like Freeland, access is the main thing to plan for a hired truck: gate widths, soft ground and the route from the road all matter. We confirm power and water arrangements with you. You will know what’s included before booking: the menu, the service time and any extras you choose.

Your questions about food truck hire in Freeland

Which station should guests use for Freeland?

Guests can use Combe station, about 1.3 miles north of Freeland.

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St Mary?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Can you do gluten-free food?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, made with corn tortillas. Let us know about coeliac guests in advance so we can talk through how their food is prepared. See are corn tortillas gluten-free?

Do you do a taco bar?

Yes, a taco bar is one of the ways we serve. Let us know your numbers and space and we will recommend how to serve.

Can you cater in a back garden?

It depends on access. If the truck or trailer can’t reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Tell us about the space and we’ll advise.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Ask about your date even if it is soon.

Can you keep it mild?

The food can be kept mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

How does private food truck hire work?

You book the truck or trailer for set hours at your event. We cook, serve and clear away.

Why choose food truck hire in Freeland?

A food truck gives a private event a focal point.

Whatever you’re celebrating in Freeland, our food truck or trailer can be the centre of it. We’re happy to cater:

  • Parties in venue grounds
  • Big birthdays
  • Staff appreciation days
  • Leaving dos and retirements

After a service at a church such as Church of St Mary, a hired food truck at a garden, field or venue nearby can feed everyone.

Questions to ask before booking

For event organisers in Freeland

Events in public spaces, like parks, normally need permission. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so guests are looked after quickly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

Where the truck can go in Freeland

If a space is not suitable, we’ll tell you, and help find another spot. What matters most:

  • Parking arrangements if we’re not on private land
  • Somewhere for guests to sit or stand and eat
  • The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a food truck

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

How we price food truck hire

Contact us for a quote, and the price is based on:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • The number of people
  • Travel, parking and access
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Your quote confirms the full price.

What we need to know

When you get in touch, it helps to tell us:

  • How we drive in and where we can park
  • A picture of where we’d park
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both

A detailed enquiry gets a more accurate quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. To send your details, fill in our quote form.

Comparing your options

Most guests have seen a burger van. A Mexican food truck offers something less expected. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we’ll set out what’s included.

The process

Expect a friendly, organised team. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, set up our food truck or trailer, and get on with serving. A Christmas party in Freeland with a hired food truck will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so choose a well-lit spot for the truck or trailer. In late June, it stays light until about 9:30pm.

  1. First come the basics: date, location, numbers and diets.
  2. You get a hatch menu and a quote for the hire.
  3. Where the truck or trailer will stand, the route in, and power and water are all agreed in advance.
  4. On the day we drive in, set up and serve to order from the hatch.
  5. After service, we close the hatch, pack down and drive away.

Getting ready for the day

  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Let us know the timings for the day
