Food truck hire in Harefield

Food truck hire for your event in Harefield

Fillings might include carnitas, al pastor-style pork or chicken tinga, with vegan choices like black bean and sweet potato. We plan for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests. At private parties in fields and grounds and weddings, we can serve burritos, loaded nachos and burrito bowls for your guests.

In and around Harefield, our truck or trailer can work at home, in a field or at a hall. Narrow roads and soft ground are fine if we know about them. Guests are served from our food truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

Why choose food truck hire in Harefield?

People eat when they’re hungry, rather than all at once.

Here are some of the events we cater:

  • Family reunions
  • Milestone birthdays
  • Summer parties at home
  • Private outdoor parties

If you’re celebrating after a ceremony at a church like Church of St James, our food truck or trailer can be waiting at the reception spot.

Questions to ask before you book

  • What the caterer needs from your venue
  • How each diet is kept separate
  • Exactly what’s included in the price
  • Where to see their hygiene rating

Questions to ask before booking

How we price food truck hire

Contact us for a quote, and the price is based on:

  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Food, drinks or both
  • How many guests we’re serving
  • Staff for serving and the bar

Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so tell us what you have in mind. Tell us your budget and we will suggest a menu.

Details that help

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • The date and rough timings
  • Where the event is
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • Any dietary needs and allergies

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, along with any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Catering for every guest

Nearly every event has some special diets. To plan for them:

  • Walk the access route and note narrow gaps
  • Flag any coeliac guests
  • Have shelter ready in case of rain
  • Tell us how many children are coming

Allergen information is available at the hatch for every dish, so guests can ask before ordering.

Ask about a second service later in the evening, quoted with the main booking.

What’s on the menu

Tacos from the hatch

Tacos are quick to serve and easy to eat standing up, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests.

Salsas and guacamole

Guacamole and a choice of salsas, freshly made.

Step by step

Guests tend to gather around the truck, so we will help you choose a spot with room for a queue. Rain does not generally stop us serving, but guests will need somewhere covered. By late September, it is dark in Harefield at around 7:10pm, so a later service will need some lighting. A late-May event keeps its light until roughly 8:55pm.

  1. Tell us what the event is and who’s coming.
  2. Together we plan dishes that cover your guests’ diets.
  3. We check power, water and timings with the venue.
  4. Service runs at the times you choose.
  5. When everyone is fed, we clear our area.

Before we arrive

  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Tell us when you want service to start
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

How to get a price

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: venue, timings, menu ideas and access. To send your details, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Harefield questions

What’s the nearest station to Harefield for guests?

The closest is Bitterne station, roughly 1.5 miles away.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St James?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Do you do a taco bar?

We can. A build-your-own taco bar can be served from the truck or a serving station, with fillings, salsas and toppings to choose from.

Do you come to Harefield?

Yes, we do. We serve at events in Harefield and across Southampton. Tell us your date and we’ll check availability.

How does private food truck hire work?

Our truck or trailer comes to your venue and serves your guests from the hatch. Only your guests are served.

Where do you cater?

London and the South East: Greater London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire, including Harefield.

Do you offer a bar with the truck?

Our Mexican drinks bar can be added to a truck booking, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. We’ll check the licensing with you.

Do you need electricity?

Tell us what the site has, such as a supply from the venue near where we will park, and we will confirm the arrangements with your quote.

Space, access and the venue

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but there are a few things to check:

  • A clear area for a queue at the hatch
  • Somewhere for guests to sit or stand and eat
  • Firm, level ground or hardstanding where the truck or trailer can park

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

Hiring our taco truck near Harefield

Harefield is about 2 miles east of Southampton, in Southampton. Whether your event is in the middle of Harefield or on the outskirts, we offer the same service: fresh service from our food truck or trailer, every diet planned for and a clear quote. Harefield is one of 40 towns and villages in Southampton we cover.

Around Harefield, historic houses include South Stoneham House (1.9 miles north-west) and Southampton Tudor House and Garden (3.1 miles south-west). Historic houses and estates usually have firm rules on vehicles, so ask where a hired food truck could park before you book. Parks such as Itchen Valley Country Park usually need permission for vehicles and catering, so a garden or hired venue is often simpler. A private event by the sea is within reach, as Harefield is within about 3 miles of the coast. Promenades and beaches usually need the council’s agreement for a catering vehicle.

Here we cover the SO18, SO19 and SO30 postcode area, so your event can be anywhere in it. Streets in the area include Dean Road, Marne Road and Keats Road, and an event on any of them can work if the truck or trailer can park nearby. With the A334 close by, Harefield is easy for us to reach for your event. We also serve at events in Thornhill (1 mile south), West End (1 mile north), Chartwell Green (1 mile north), Bitterne (1 mile south-west) and Townhill Park (1 mile north-west). We also cater in nearby towns such as Shirley (4 miles west), Regents Park (4 miles west), Maybush (5 miles west), Coxford (4 miles west), Freemantle (4 miles west) and Lordswood (4 miles north-west). • Local schools include Woodlands Community College (less than half a mile east) and The Gregg School (1.1 miles north-west)
  • Nearby, you will find The Red Lion pub (0.7 miles south-west)

Working with your venue

If you’re booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will talk you through the process. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

For repeat events, such as annual staff parties or seasonal fairs, let us know your dates early, so we can check the date.

Should I do it myself?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
