Food truck hire in Hatchet Green, from our truck or trailer

The hatch menu is agreed with you: tacos and burritos, with bowls, nachos or quesadillas if you like, finished with salsas and guacamole. It works well for back-garden parties and engagements and anniversaries, serving tacos from the hatch, burrito bowls and quesadillas.

Somewhere as small as Hatchet Green, food truck hire can mean a garden, a field or a barn. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives. Soft ground after rain is worth mentioning too. We will check the space, access and power with you before the day, so set-up goes smoothly.

Comparing your options

A private hire is not the same as a festival stall. At a festival we trade to the public; a private hire means your guests, your menu and your timings. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

Why us?

  • A menu agreed with you
  • Set-up planned with you and your venue
  • Allergen information for every dish
  • Food and drinks from one caterer, if you want both

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.

Can I do a taco night myself?

You can host your own taco night for a crowd, but it takes planning. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Read our guide to taco bars.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Your questions about food truck hire in Hatchet Green

Do you cater in villages like Hatchet Green?

Yes. Villages and hamlets are part of our area, and the main thing is access: tell us about the lane, the gate and the ground.

Could you serve our guests after a service at Church of St Mary?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Do you offer a bar with the truck?

The drinks bar comes with bar staff. We’ll talk through licensing first.

What food and drinks do you offer?

Mexican street food: tacos, taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas, plus salsas, guacamole and toppings. We also run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas.

Is the food made fresh?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

Do you need power and water?

It depends on the event and the set-up, and we agree power and water with you before the day. Let us know whether there is a supply near where we will park.

What about vegan and gluten-free guests?

We plan vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests. Every dish has allergen information.

How big an event can you cater?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but our truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. For anything outside that, ask us.

What affects the price in Hatchet Green

Your quote will be clear. What affects it most:

  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food
  • What’s on the menu
  • Travel, parking and access
  • The number of people

Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: serving hours, staff, disposables, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we will set out what’s included.

Getting an accurate quote

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • A photo of the space, if it’s a garden or field

Getting a quote is simple: tell us the date, place, numbers and any dietary needs. We will come back with a clear quote and a suggested menu.

Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, most diets are easy. Our advice:

  • Count children separately
  • Check early that your venue allows food trucks
  • Check gate widths and any height limits
  • Plan a covered area for guests to eat

Service starts when your timings say, and we cook each order as it comes.

Tell us what serveware you need and we’ll confirm the options in your quote.

The process

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and serve without fuss. A hired food truck at a summer event in Hatchet Green can serve in daylight until about 9:25pm at midsummer, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:10pm. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Tell us the date, the location, rough numbers and any diets.
  2. We suggest a menu for the hatch and quote for it.
  3. Before the day, we agree the spot, the way in, power and water.
  4. We arrive, open the hatch and cook to order for your guests.
  5. After service, we close the hatch, pack down and drive away.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

Getting a price

We need only a few details to quote: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. To send them, fill in our quote form.
