About our food truck hire in Hillingdon

A hired food truck works for weddings, birthdays and staff days. On the menu are tacos from the hatch, vegan tacos and fresh salsas and guacamole, and it is a good fit for staff summer parties and winter staff parties.

In a London neighbourhood like Hillingdon, the first question for food truck hire is parking. A drive, a courtyard or a car park can all work, with permission, and some streets may need a parking suspension from the council. All of Greater London is inside the ULEZ. We prepare everything fresh for your event and serve it straight from our truck or trailer.

Where the truck can go in Hillingdon

We will agree the spot with you before the day. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • Level, solid ground for the vehicle
  • Some space between the truck and nearby homes
  • Arrangements for power and water, agreed when you book

In Hillingdon, as everywhere in Greater London, the ULEZ applies and kerb space is limited. Where will the truck or trailer stop? A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work.

Hillingdon questions

Is parking a problem for events in Hillingdon?

That depends on the street. A drive, a courtyard or a bay suspended by the council can all work, so tell us what’s outside your venue. The ULEZ covers all of Greater London.

Which station is closest to Hillingdon?

West Drayton station, about 2.2 miles south-west of the centre.

How much is a food truck for an event?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the length of service and the location. Send us the details for a quote.

How big an event can you cater?

Truck and trailer service generally suits around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, and festivals can be larger. Send us your numbers and we will advise.

What happens if it rains?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, like a marquee or gazebo.

How does food truck hire work?

You hire the truck or trailer for agreed service times. We cook to order, serve from the hatch and pack down afterwards.

How is private hire different from festival trading?

At a private hire, we serve your guests and nobody else, with a menu and timings you agree with us. At festivals and markets we trade to the public; see our street food catering page.

What access do you need?

Access and level ground matter most: a level spot to park, space for guests to queue and a little room for a serving table. If in doubt, send us a photo of the space and the way in.

For planners, venues and organisers

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We’ll provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Is food truck hire right for your event?

Booking several street food trucks means juggling several suppliers. One Mexican truck with a varied menu keeps things simple. Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

Step by step

Service is quick and friendly: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. When service ends, we pack down. At midsummer, it stays light in Hillingdon until about 9:25pm, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:05pm. In December it is dark by about 3:55pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. First come the basics: date, location, numbers and diets.
  2. We suggest a menu for the hatch and quote for it.
  3. Where the truck or trailer will stand, the route in, and power and water are all agreed in advance.
  4. Your guests order at the hatch and we serve hot food at the agreed times.
  5. Once guests are fed, we clear our area and head off.

Preparing for the day

Catering for every guest

Every guest is catered for, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan included. To get it right:

  • Tell us when guests should eat
  • Have shelter ready in case of rain
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Flag any coeliac guests

The hatch opens at the time you choose, and we cook each order as it comes.

Loaded nachos to share while the first orders cook.

Should I do it myself?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
