Food truck hire for Hillway events

Food truck hire in Hillway, served fresh

Everyone orders at the hatch and gets food cooked to order. It keeps things easy and relaxed for guests and hosts. It works well for leaving parties and client hospitality, serving burrito bowls, vegan tacos and quesadillas.

In a small place like Hillway, a hired food truck might park in a garden, paddock or field. Tell us about narrow lanes, gates and long drives. Soft ground after rain is worth mentioning too. We serve from the hatch of our food truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

FAQs for Hillway

Could you serve our guests after a service at Bembridge Methodist Church?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Could you come to a seaside event near Hillway?

Yes, with permission for the spot and firm ground for the truck or trailer. Seafront and beach spots normally need permission, and wind is the main thing to plan for.

Can you do gluten-free food?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free, but some fillings, sauces and toppings may not be, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

Which areas do you serve?

We cover London and the South East, including the Isle of Wight. See all areas.

Do you come to Hillway?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, and Hillway is within our area. For a quote, send a quick message through our quote form.

Is private hire the same as trading at a festival?

Private hire means we serve only your guests, with a menu and timings you agree with us. Festival and market trading is open to the public; see our street food catering page.

What does hiring your food truck involve?

Our truck or trailer comes to your venue and serves your guests from the hatch. It’s a private booking for your guests only.

Is food truck hire good for weddings?

We can serve from the truck for the wedding meal, the evening or both. Timings are agreed with you and your venue. See our food truck wedding guide.

How it works

We arrive in good time before service, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. Guests come up to order when service opens. A hired food truck at a summer event in Hillway can serve in daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:10pm. For winter events, dark by about 4:00pm, plan lighting where guests queue at the hatch.

  1. Tell us what the event is and who’s coming.
  2. Together we plan dishes that cover your guests’ diets.
  3. Power, water and timings are agreed with you or the venue.
  4. Service runs at the times you choose.
  5. When everyone is fed, we clear our area.

How to prepare

  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain
  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site

Can I do a taco night myself?

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

How we price food truck hire

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • The menu you choose
  • Serving staff
  • Whether you need disposables
  • The length of service

There is no one-size-fits-all price for food truck hire. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

What we need to know

You do not need every detail fixed to get a quote, but it helps to know:

  • The address or venue name
  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • The date and time of the event

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, along with any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, fill in our quote form.

Is food truck hire right for your event?

A private hire is not the same as a festival stall. At a festival we trade to the public; when you hire us, we serve only your guests, on your timings. The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, since the set-up is much the same either way. Tell us your numbers for an accurate price.

What you get with us

  • A clear quote
  • Tacos, burritos and a drinks bar
  • Everything served fresh from the hatch
  • Allergen-aware menus

Why choose food truck hire in Hillway?

People eat when they’re hungry, rather than all at once.

Whatever the occasion, our truck or trailer can be the centre of it. We’re happy to cater:

  • Client hospitality
  • Private outdoor parties
  • Garden parties
  • Christenings and family parties

If you are celebrating after a ceremony at a church like Bembridge Methodist Church, our truck or trailer can be waiting at the reception spot.

Questions to ask before booking

  • Staff numbers and hours
  • Who provides plates and napkins
  • What the caterer needs from your venue
  • Whether VAT is included

Dietary needs and planning tips

Good planning keeps every guest safe and happy. Try these:

  • Look into parking permissions if the truck can’t go off-road
  • Ask guests about dietary needs when they reply
  • Send allergy details in writing
  • Plan a covered area for guests to eat

We arrive in the agreed window and park where we’ve arranged. It helps if someone can meet us on arrival.

Ask us about napkins, plates and cutlery and we will confirm what’s possible.
