Food truck hire in Lambeth

About our food truck hire in Lambeth

Everyone orders at the hatch and gets food cooked to order. It is simple, quick and sociable. At family reunions and leaving parties, we can serve quesadillas, burritos and burrito bowls.

Around Lambeth, a hired truck or trailer needs a yard, forecourt or drive it can reach. The truck or trailer needs level ground and space for guests to queue, plus your venue’s agreement. We serve from the hatch of our truck or trailer, or from a serving station, and we plan the service around your numbers.

Before you choose a spot

If a space is not suitable, we will tell you, and suggest an alternative. What matters most:

  • Seating or standing room near the truck
  • A flat parking spot on firm ground or hardstanding
  • A way in wide and high enough for the vehicle

As a London location, Lambeth is inside the ULEZ, and parking and loading take planning: let us know about permits, bays, off-street space or a parking suspension.

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly.

FAQs for Lambeth

Can we hire your food truck for an event at home in Lambeth?

A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work, depending on your street. Guests order at the hatch, so we also need room for a queue, and all of Greater London is inside the ULEZ.

Where would you park in Lambeth?

London parking needs planning: let us know about permits or off-street space. Some streets may need a parking suspension from the council, and all of Greater London is inside the ULEZ.

How much is food truck hire?

There’s no fixed price list, as every booking is different. Send your details and you will get a quote. See the Mexican catering cost guide for background.

How soon do we need to book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it’s short notice, it’s worth asking.

Do you have dairy-free options?

Yes, we can. Tell us how many guests need dairy-free food, and we’ll plan the menu around them.

What do you serve?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings might include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. Our sample menu has more ideas.

How is the food prepared?

We cook to order in our truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

Do you do parties at home?

That depends on access. If the truck or trailer cannot reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Tell us about the space and we’ll advise.

For planners, venues and organisers

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

If you’re booking for a business, tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We can work with your facilities team on access and timings.

How we price food truck hire

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Timings and hours
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • The menu you choose

Comparing caterers? Look at what each quote includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Contact us for a quote and we will set out what’s included.

Getting an accurate quote

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • The venue or postcode
  • A picture of where we’d park

Most quotes start with a few simple details: date, location, guest numbers and diets. To send them, tell us about it on our contact page.

How it compares

Plated catering needs a kitchen tent, waiting staff and set courses. A food truck arrives as a kitchen and serves from the hatch, needing level ground, access and the venue’s permission. Got a budget? Let us know, and we’ll suggest a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Why us?

  • Everything served fresh from the hatch
  • A menu agreed with you
  • Catering across Greater London, including Lambeth
  • Menus for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests

See how we price and our guide to catering costs.

Catering for every guest

With a little notice, most diets are easy. Our advice:

  • Look into parking permissions if the truck can’t go off-road
  • Email us any allergies
  • Guests with serious allergies should contact us first
  • Walk the access route and note narrow gaps

We arrive in the agreed window and park where we have arranged. Someone on site to meet us makes it smoother.

Nachos for sharing at the start are a good way to begin.

What happens on the day

It’s a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and serve without fuss. By late September, it’s dark in Lambeth at around 7:05pm, so evening service from the truck may run past dusk. In late May, daylight lasts until about 8:50pm.

  1. Check our availability for your date.
  2. You get a menu for the hatch and a quote.
  3. We confirm the parking spot and the route in.
  4. We drive in, open the hatch and serve your guests.
  5. After service, we close up and leave the spot clear.

Preparing for the day

  • Let us know who to talk to on the day
  • Check the venue is happy to have a truck or trailer on site
  • Tell us when you want service to start

How to get a price

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, plus any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just fill in our quote form.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
