Dietary needs and planning tips

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because guests can choose what suits them. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Let us know who is coeliac
  • Tell us when guests should eat
  • Collect diets and allergies with your RSVPs

We arrive in the agreed window and park where we’ve arranged. It helps if someone can meet us on arrival.

Loaded nachos to share while the first orders cook are a good way to begin.

Food truck hire in Moss End, from our food truck or trailer

The hatch menu is agreed with you: tacos and burritos, with bowls, nachos or quesadillas if you like, finished with salsas and guacamole. For back-garden parties and wedding evening food, we will put together a menu of burrito bowls, fresh salsas and guacamole and loaded nachos for your guests.

In a rural place like Moss End, access is the main thing to plan for a hired truck: gate widths, soft ground and the route from the road all matter. Power and water may be limited, so we confirm the arrangements before the day. Every guest is catered for, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free included, with allergen information for everything we serve.

Who books food truck hire in Moss End?

Diets are simple to plan for, since gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan choices come from the same hatch.

Here are some of the events we cater around Moss End:

  • Engagement parties
  • Retirement parties
  • Wedding evening food
  • Christenings and family parties

When the service is at a church such as Church of St Michael and All Angels, the truck would serve at the reception venue rather than at the church.

How to compare caterers

Organising for someone else?

Booking for a company? Tell us what your finance team needs, and we will explain how it works. We’re happy to liaise with facilities on access and timings.

Hosting a party at home? Send a picture of the space and tell us about access, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Is food truck hire right for your event?

Most guests have seen a burger van. Tacos and burritos from a truck feel different. Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.

Why book with us

  • Everything served fresh from the hatch
  • Allergen information for every dish

How it works

Once service is over, we pack up and leave our area tidy. Set-up and pack-down times are agreed with you and the venue. December events in Moss End lose the light at about 3:55pm, so ask the venue about outdoor lighting where we’ll park. At midsummer, sunset is around 9:25pm.

  1. Send us your date, the address, a headcount and dietary needs.
  2. You get a hatch menu and a quote for the hire.
  3. We confirm the parking spot, access, power and water with you or the venue.
  4. Your guests order at the hatch and we serve hot food at the agreed times.
  5. Once guests are fed, we clear our area and head off.

Before we arrive

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

Yes, as long as we are available on the date and can get the truck or trailer in. Let us know about access and where we’d park.
