Food truck hire in Oakwood

Should I do it myself?

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

How our food truck hire works in Oakwood

Service is planned around your timings: a lunchtime window, an evening service or a longer slot through a party. Let us know your running order and we’ll plan around it. Popular choices include tacos from the hatch, vegan tacos and burritos, which works well for engagements and anniversaries and family reunions.

At a private or office event in Oakwood, guests order at the hatch of our food truck or trailer. Tell us about the route in, height barriers and narrow entrances, and send a picture if you can. Your quote sets out what’s included: menu, timings and any add-ons.

How it compares

If you want guests to remember the food, a private food truck is a strong option. Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

FAQs for Oakwood

Is food truck hire possible at a house in Oakwood?

It depends on the space: a drive, a courtyard or a parking bay suspended by the council can all work. Guests order at the hatch, so we also need room for a queue, and all of Greater London is inside the ULEZ.

Is it possible to have you in Oakwood Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

How much is a food truck for an event?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we’ll reply with a quote.

How does food truck hire work?

You book the truck or trailer for set hours at your event. We cook, serve and clear away.

Are plates and napkins included?

Please ask us. Tell us what your venue provides, and we’ll set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.

How long do you serve for?

It depends on your event. We agree arrival, service and pack-down times with you to suit your day.

Do you sell to the public at private events?

At a private hire, we serve your guests and nobody else, with a menu and timings you agree with us. Festival and market trading is open to the public; see our street food catering page.

Do you do parties at home?

It depends on access. If the truck or trailer cannot reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Send us a photo and we will talk it through.

Diets, allergies and planning

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because options can be kept separate. A few tips:

  • Plan a covered area for guests to eat
  • Confirm the venue accepts outside caterers and vehicles
  • Collect diets and allergies with your RSVPs
  • Let us know who is coeliac

We keep allergen information for every dish at the hatch.

Ask about a second service later in the evening, quoted with the main booking.

Prices and what affects them

We will give you a clear quote. What affects it most:

  • Timings and hours
  • Distance and access to the venue
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Guest numbers

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Details that help

To check availability and price, we need:

  • The address or venue name
  • The date and rough timings
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Roughly how many adults and children

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you need. To ask for one, use our quote form.

Planning the serving area

Everything is served from our truck or trailer, so where we park matters. These are the things we check:

  • A clear area for a queue at the hatch
  • Somewhere for guests to sit or stand and eat
  • Any parking or loading permission needed for street locations

Oakwood is in London, inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, which covers all of Greater London, and parking can be tight: tell us about parking bays, permits, a driveway or whether a parking suspension is needed.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we offer

Planners, venues and businesses

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.

For big numbers, we plan service to keep queues short, so guests are looked after quickly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

Popular choices

Quesadillas

A quesadilla suits cautious eaters.

Burrito bowls

A bowl is a good choice for guests avoiding tortillas.

How the day works

We get there well before you want to serve, then set up and prepare everything. Guests come up to order when service opens. A Christmas party in Oakwood with a hired food truck will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so choose a well-lit spot for the truck or trailer. At midsummer, sunset is around 9:20pm.

  1. Share your plans for the event.
  2. Together we plan dishes that cover your guests’ diets.
  3. Power, water and timings are agreed with you or the venue.
  4. Service runs at the times you choose.
  5. When everyone is fed, we clear our area.

Before we arrive

  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Find out what power and water are available

How to get a price

Every quote is put together for your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we will confirm whether we’re available that day.
