FAQs for Poling

How far is Poling from central London?

It is about 49 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Can you serve near the sea around Poling?

Yes, with permission for the spot and firm ground for the truck or trailer. Wind, sand and seafront permissions are the main things to plan on the coast.

Is the food suitable for children?

Yes. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

Is the food very hot?

It’s up to you: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately.

Can we add drinks?

You can add our drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. We’ll talk licensing through with you.

Do you do parties at home?

It depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Send us a photo and we’ll talk it through.

Do you come to Poling?

Yes. We cater across London and the South East, including Poling and the rest of West Sussex. To check your date, fill in our quote form.

Do you sell to the public at private events?

Private hire means we serve only your guests, on a menu and timings agreed with you. Festival and market trading is open to the public; see our street food catering page.

Food truck hire in Poling, served fresh

The truck or trailer is a working kitchen on wheels, so your venue doesn’t need a kitchen. We need a level spot, safe access and the venue’s permission. For family celebrations and big birthdays, we will put together a menu of vegan tacos, burritos and loaded nachos for your guests.

Somewhere as small as Poling, food truck hire can mean a garden, a field or a barn. Lanes, gates and long drives are fine if we know about them. Firm ground matters, especially after rain. Access, space and power are agreed with you beforehand, so there are no surprises on arrival.

Working with your venue

Wedding planners and venue coordinators are welcome to contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we will work to it.

How it works

From set-up to service, we look after everything you’ve booked from us, so you can enjoy your event. At midsummer, it stays light in Poling until about 9:20pm, and by late September sunset is about 7:05pm. For winter events, dark by about 4:00pm, plan lighting where guests queue at the hatch.

  1. Share your plans for the event.
  2. Together we plan dishes that cover your guests’ diets.
  3. We check power, water and timings with the venue.
  4. Service runs at the times you choose.
  5. Once service ends, we tidy up and go.

How to prepare

  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Find out what power and water are available

How to get a price

What food truck hire costs

We’ll give you a clear quote. What affects it most:

  • Timings and hours
  • The number of people
  • What the venue already provides
  • What’s on the menu

When you compare quotes, check what each one includes: service time, staff, plates and napkins, travel and VAT. Our quote sets out what’s included.

What we need to know

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • Your menu ideas
  • Where the event is
  • A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. To send your details, send a quick message through our quote form.

Events we cater in Poling

The truck becomes the place guests gather, and the hatch draws people over.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Typical bookings include:

  • Client hospitality
  • Garden parties

Guests leaving a church like The Parish Church of St Nicholas could walk or drive to a nearby garden or hall where the truck is ready.

How it compares

Plated catering needs a kitchen tent, waiting staff and set courses. A food truck arrives as a kitchen and serves from the hatch, needing level ground, access and the venue’s permission. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Your quote confirms the full price.

Why us?

  • Everything served fresh from the hatch
  • Menus chosen with you
  • A plan agreed before the day
  • Menus for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests
