Food truck hire for Selling events

Food truck hire in Selling, from our truck or trailer

Our drinks bar can be hired with the truck with margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas. We can add a taco-bar station next to the truck. It suits birthday parties and staff summer parties, with quesadillas, vegan tacos and fresh salsas and guacamole.

In a hamlet or village like Selling, our food truck or trailer can serve a private party or a team day in a field or garden. Guests queue at the hatch, so have some cover ready in case of rain. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

What food truck hire costs

These are the factors that matter most:

  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • Guest numbers
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Your choice of food and drinks

Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so tell us what you have in mind. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

What to tell us

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Your menu ideas
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • The date and time of the event
  • Roughly how many adults and children

It’s easy to get a price: share your date, venue, numbers and diets. We’ll send you a clear quote.

Where the truck can go in Selling

Every venue is different, so we’ll ask about yours before we confirm. In general, we need:

  • Power and water details confirmed in advance
  • Some space between the truck and nearby homes
  • The landowner’s go-ahead for the truck or trailer

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise before you book.

Selling questions

What’s the nearest station to Selling for guests?

Guests can use Selling station, about 0.8 miles north-east of Selling.

We are having a ceremony at Church of St Mary: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Can you cater in a back garden?

Yes, as long as there’s access and a level, firm spot. Send us a picture of the access and the space, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it works.

Do you give allergen information?

Yes, and it helps to hear about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). Anyone with a severe allergy should speak to us before the event.

What’s on the menu?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. See our menu for ideas.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

Yes, we offer gluten-free options, using corn tortillas. Tell us about any coeliac guests before the event so we can talk through how their food is prepared.

Is the truck suitable for a large group?

Hiring the truck or trailer typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller gatherings are looked at case by case.

Do you cover Selling?

We do. We serve at events in Selling and across Kent. Send us your date to check availability.

How it compares

A DIY barbecue keeps a host at the grill. With a hired truck, we do the cooking so you can join in. Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. Your quote confirms the full price.

What you get with us

  • Allergen-aware menus
  • A menu agreed with you
  • A plan agreed before the day
  • Served fresh from our truck or trailer

Read our pricing and the cost guide.

Step by step

Your timings come first. If things run behind, let us know and we’ll adjust where we can. At midsummer, it stays light in Selling until about 9:15pm, and by late September sunset is about 7:00pm. In December it’s dark by about 3:50pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. Send us your date, the address, a headcount and dietary needs.
  2. You get a hatch menu and a quote for the hire.
  3. Before the day, we agree the spot, the way in, power and water.
  4. Your guests order at the hatch and we serve hot food at the agreed times.
  5. After service, we close the hatch, pack down and drive away.

Preparing for the day

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
