Food truck hire in Tonbridge

Food truck hire in Tonbridge, from our food truck or trailer

Truck and trailer service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests. Smaller parties are quoted case by case, so tell us how many you expect. At launch events and parties in venue grounds, we can serve burritos, fresh salsas and guacamole and burrito bowls for your guests.

In Tonbridge, drives and gardens vary a lot, and the question is whether the truck or trailer can reach a level spot. A nearby car park can also work, with permission. Guests are served from our food truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan the service around your numbers.

About the menu

Tacos from the hatch

Tacos made to order at the hatch, with fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga or spiced mushroom.

Burrito bowls

A bowl is a good choice for guests avoiding tortillas, and they’re easy to adapt.

What happens on the day

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. Guests come up to order when service opens. A hired food truck at a summer event in Tonbridge can serve in daylight until about 9:20pm at midsummer, and by late September sunset is about 7:00pm. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. First come the basics: date, location, numbers and diets.
  2. You get a hatch menu and a quote for the hire.
  3. We confirm the parking spot, access, power and water with you or the venue.
  4. We arrive, open the hatch and cook to order for your guests.
  5. Once guests are fed, we clear our area and head off.

How to prepare

  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer

Planning for every diet

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Measure gates and look for low branches on the way in
  • Confirm allergies with us in writing
  • Put anyone with a severe allergy in touch with us
  • Have shelter ready in case of rain

Service starts when your timings say.

Ask us about evening food later on, quoted with the main booking.

Comparing your options

Hog roasts are popular with meat eaters, but a Mexican menu covers vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests more easily. There is no one-size-fits-all price for food truck hire. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

Why us?

  • Allergen information for every dish
  • Service planned around your numbers
  • Quoted for your event

How we price food truck hire

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food
  • The menu you choose
  • Timings and hours
  • How many guests we are serving

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we will suggest a menu to match. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

Details that help

When you get in touch, it helps to tell us:

  • Your menu ideas
  • What power and water the site has
  • Expected numbers
  • Where the event is

Send us the date, your venue or TN9 postcode and guest numbers, along with any dietary needs, and we will reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Your questions about food truck hire in Tonbridge

What’s the nearest station to Tonbridge for guests?

The closest is Tonbridge station, roughly 0.6 miles away.

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Haysden Country Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we will send what they need from us.

What does food truck hire cost?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas for a clear quote.

Is food truck hire good for weddings?

A food truck suits a relaxed wedding well, especially in the evening. We agree access and timings with the venue.

Do you have vegan options?

Yes, they’re part of the planning from the start. Let us know how many vegetarian and vegan guests to expect, and we’ll keep their options separate.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we’ll check the licensing with you.

How long are you on site?

We get there well before service to set up. The length of service is agreed when you book, along with pack-down.

What about vegan and gluten-free guests?

We plan for diets before the day, though we can’t guarantee there are no traces of any allergen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us first.

Space, access and the venue

We serve from a truck or trailer, so the spot needs a little planning. These are the things we check:

  • Any parking or loading permission needed for street locations
  • A spot away from neighbours
  • A place for guests to eat close to the hatch

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.

What we offer

Choosing a Mexican caterer

DIY taco night versus a caterer

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone has to serve all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Read our guide to taco bars.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
