Food truck hire near West End

DIY taco night versus a caterer

Weighing up a DIY taco night against a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

About our food truck hire in West End

Food truck hire means our truck or trailer is booked for your guests only. Unlike a stall at a festival or market, it is a private hire, so the menu and timings are set around your event. It works well for family reunions and back-garden parties, with quesadillas, loaded nachos and burritos.

In a small place like West End, a hired food truck might park in a garden, paddock or field. Lanes, gates and long drives are fine if we know about them. Soft ground after rain is worth mentioning too. Everything is prepared fresh for your event and served from our truck or trailer, so guests get it at its best.

Catering for every guest

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Ask guests about dietary needs when they reply
  • Check early that your venue allows food trucks
  • Measure gates and look for low branches on the way in
  • Tell us about coeliac guests

We arrive in the agreed window and park where we have arranged. Someone on site to meet us makes it smoother.

Tell us what serveware you need and we’ll confirm the options in your quote.

Who books food truck hire in West End?

You do not need a kitchen, which opens up gardens, fields and car parks with the venue’s agreement.

Whatever you’re celebrating in West End, the serving truck can be a highlight. We can cater:

  • Private outdoor parties
  • Company away days
  • Engagement parties
  • Wedding evening food

After a service at a church such as St George's, a hired food truck at a garden, field or venue nearby can feed everyone.

Loaded nachos

Nachos are good for sharing between friends; dairy-free versions can be planned.

Burritos

A burrito is a full meal in the hand.

Planning the serving area

Everything is served from our food truck or trailer, so the spot needs a little planning. Here’s what we look for:

  • Firm, level ground or hardstanding where the truck or trailer can park
  • A place for guests to eat close to the hatch
  • Space in front of the hatch for guests to queue

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think.

Common questions in West End

Could you serve in Claremont Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

Do you cater in villages like West End?

Yes, small places are no problem, given access. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We clear our own area when service is finished. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

Ask us when you enquire. Tell us what your venue provides, and we’ll set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need dairy-free food, and we’ll include them in the plan.

Is food truck hire good for weddings?

We can serve from the truck for the wedding meal, the evening or both. We fit service around your running order. See our food truck wedding guide.

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Of course. We can include vegetarian and vegan fillings like black beans or spiced mushrooms.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

That depends on your timings and the event. As a guide, it’s around 50 to 400 guests, so tell us your numbers.

How it works

We get there well before you want to serve, set up the truck or trailer and get everything ready. Guests come up to order when service opens. Planning a private evening event in West End? Sunset is around 8:55pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June. After that, festoon lights or lamps near the truck help guests order.

  1. First come the basics: date, location, numbers and diets.
  2. You get a hatch menu and a quote for the hire.
  3. Before the day, we agree the spot, the way in, power and water.
  4. We arrive, open the hatch and cook to order for your guests.
  5. When service ends, we pack up and leave the spot clear.

Getting ready for the day

  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Tell us about narrow gates or low branches
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain

How we price food truck hire

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • How many guests we are serving
  • What’s on the menu
  • The length of service

There is no one-size-fits-all price for food truck hire. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what to include:

  • Any dietary needs and allergies
