About our food truck hire in Whetstone

Fillings might include carnitas, al pastor-style pork or chicken tinga, with vegan choices like black bean and sweet potato. We plan for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free diets. It works well for client hospitality and big birthdays, serving fresh salsas and guacamole, loaded nachos and vegan tacos.

Hiring a food truck in Whetstone starts with where it can park. A courtyard, forecourt or drive can work, with permission, and some streets may need a parking suspension from the council. What affects the price in Whetstone

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • How many guests we are serving
  • What’s on the menu
  • Serving staff

Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so it helps to tell us about your venue. Your quote confirms the full price.

Getting an accurate quote

Here’s what makes a quick, accurate quote possible:

  • The venue or postcode
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children
  • The date and time of the event
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both

To get a price, just tell us about it on our contact page. Tell us about your event in Whetstone, and we will suggest a menu to suit.

Catering for every guest

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Let us know who is coeliac
  • Check early that your venue allows food trucks
  • Walk the access route and note narrow gaps
  • Confirm allergies with us in writing

The hatch opens at the time you choose, and we cook each order as it comes.

A taco-bar station can sit next to the truck for a wedding breakfast or lunch.

Working with your venue

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we will keep everyone informed on the day.

Hosting a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will let you know if it is a good fit.

Planning the serving area

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We need:

  • Gate widths, overhead branches and soft ground checked in advance
  • Some space between the truck and nearby homes
  • Parking arrangements if we’re not on private land

London streets around Whetstone can be narrow and busy, and all of Greater London sits inside the ULEZ. Tell us about loading, permits and any parking suspension when you enquire.

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise.

Whetstone: your questions answered

Is food truck hire possible at a house in Whetstone?

A drive, a courtyard or a suspended bay can all work, depending on your street. Guests order at the hatch, so we also need room for a queue, and all of Greater London is inside the ULEZ.

We’re having a ceremony at Church of St John: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

How is private hire different from festival trading?

A private hire is booked and quoted for you, and we do not sell to the public. Organisers wanting us to trade at their event can see our festival page.

Do you do parties at home?

That depends on access. A drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission, if the garden itself is out of reach. Send us a photo and we’ll talk it through.

How much space do you need?

A level, firm spot for the truck or trailer, with access wide and high enough to drive in, plus the venue’s permission. We confirm power and water with you for each booking.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

We can. We offer dairy-free options, and we’ll tell you which dishes contain milk.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

Ask us when you enquire. Let us know what you already have, and we will set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.

Do you need power and water?

It depends on the event and the set-up, so we confirm power and water arrangements with each booking. Tell us what’s available at your venue.

What’s on the menu

Quesadillas

Quesadillas are a simple choice for children.

Tacos from the hatch

Tacos are quick to serve and easy to eat standing up, and corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Think about numbers, diets and how much you want to enjoy the day. Contact us for a quote to compare.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

What happens on the day

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. We’re ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. At midsummer, it stays light in Whetstone until about 9:20pm, while late September brings sunset forward to around 7:05pm. In December it’s dark by about 3:55pm, so the queue by the hatch needs lighting.

  1. First come the basics: date, location, numbers and diets.
  2. We check availability and send a menu and a quote for hiring the truck or trailer.
  3. We confirm the parking spot, access, power and water with you or the venue.
  4. We arrive, open the hatch and cook to order for your guests.
  5. After service, we close the hatch, pack down and drive away.

Preparing for the day

  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Plan a covered area for guests if rain is likely
  • Tell us what power and water the site has
