Mexican catering near Barton

How our Mexican catering works in Barton

Tacos are the heart of the menu: warmed tortillas, a choice of fillings, and salsas, guacamole and toppings to finish. We can add burritos, burrito bowls, nachos and quesadillas. On the menu are burritos, tacos and quesadillas, which works well for family gatherings and christenings and wedding breakfasts and evening food.

In and around Barton, gardens and local halls are common choices. If access is tight or the ground is soft, we’ll plan around it. Guests are served from our truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan the service around your numbers.

Should I do it myself?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Doing it yourself saves money, but the host ends up in the kitchen. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.

Your questions about Mexican catering in Barton

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Seaclose Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

Could you serve our guests after a service at St Paul's Church?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

How big an event can you cater?

It depends on the menu and how long service runs, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. For anything outside that, ask us.

How far ahead should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it’s short notice, it is worth asking.

Can you run a bar?

Yes. The drinks bar can be added to food or booked on its own, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. We’ll check the licensing for alcohol with you.

How spicy is the food?

That is your choice: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately.

Can we have a build-your-own taco bar?

Yes, a taco bar is one of the ways we serve. Tell us about your space and numbers and we will recommend how to serve.

What access do you need?

Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, and a route in it can fit through, plus the venue’s permission. We confirm power and water with you for each booking.

How we price Mexican catering

We’ll give you a clear quote. The main things that affect it are:

  • Travel, parking and access
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • The menu you choose
  • Serving staff

If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll suggest a menu that fits. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

Getting an accurate quote

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • The date and time of the event
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • The address or venue name

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, plus any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. Just send a quick message through our quote form.

The process

Service is quick and friendly: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. When service ends, we pack down. In Barton, the sun sets at about 9:20pm in late June and about 7:10pm in late September, so summer evening events are usually served in daylight. For winter events, when it is dark by about 4:00pm, plan lighting where guests queue and eat.

  1. Send us your date, numbers and venue.
  2. Together we plan a menu around your guests’ diets.
  3. We check the route in and where the truck or trailer will stand.
  4. Guests order at the hatch or build their own at the taco bar.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

How to prepare

  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat
  • Confirm the venue allows outside caterers
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

Working with your venue

If your event is in a public space, such as a park, check what permission you need first. We can send what the landowner or council needs from us.

Venues often have their own rules about outside caterers: where vehicles can park, access times and the paperwork they need. Tell us what your venue needs and we’ll work to it.

Diets, allergies and planning

With a little notice, most diets are easy. Our advice:

  • Put any allergies in writing for us
  • Plan somewhere covered for guests to eat if it rains
  • Mention any other caterers or courses
  • Let us know if a guest is coeliac

We have allergen information for every dish at the hatch.

Ask us about plates, cutlery and serving staff and we will set out what we can do in your quote.

Barton: venues, access and local tips

Barton is about 1 mile east of Newport, in the Isle of Wight. We serve at events in homes, gardens and venues in Barton and the surrounding area. We cater in 125 places in the Isle of Wight, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in. You can also see our page for Southampton, about 16 miles away.

If you’re celebrating after a service at a church like St Paul's Church, a truck or trailer parked at a hall or garden close by can serve the meal. A gathering in Seaclose Park would need the park owner’s say-so for any catering vehicle, and that is worth sorting out early. The coast is within about 5 miles of Barton, so for a seaside event we plan around the wind. The truck or trailer needs firm ground rather than sand or shingle, and seafront spots typically need permission from the council or landowner.

For Mexican catering in PO30, PO31 and PO41, we plan around your venue and the route in. Local streets include Pan Lane, Ash Road and Chain Lane; for an event at home on any of them, tell us where the truck or trailer can park. Barton is among the bigger towns we cover in the Isle of Wight, with lots of choice for events. Some remote venues need extra planning, so ask early about your event.

About the menu

Salsas and guacamole

The salsas and guacamole finish every plate, and guests add as much as they like.

Loaded nachos

Tortilla chips piled with cheese, a filling, salsa, guacamole and toppings, made for sharing.

Is Mexican catering right for your event?

Burgers and pizza are what guests often expect. Mexican street food stands out, yet it’s still food most guests know and like. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire. Contact us for a quote to compare.

Planning the serving area

Before the day, we will agree where we park and serve. It needs to meet a few simple requirements:

  • Room for a queue in front of the serving hatch
  • A route in that is wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance
  • Details of power and water on site, agreed when you book

Out-of-the-way places like Barton take a little more planning, so let us know about tracks, gates and power in good time.

Not sure about your space? Send us a picture and we will tell you honestly.
