How our Mexican catering works in Hampden Park

Planning taco catering for an event in Hampden Park? We bring our food truck or trailer to events in and around Hampden Park: private gardens, venue grounds, courtyards and fields, wherever we can get in safely. It suits family celebrations and wedding breakfasts and evening food, serving loaded nachos, burritos and tacos.

In a smaller place like Hampden Park, your own garden, drive or a local hall is often the simplest option: no venue hire, and nobody stuck in the kitchen. Let us know about the route to the house. Timings are planned around your event, so service starts when you want it.

The menu, item by item

Build-your-own taco bar

A serving table of fillings, salsas and toppings, with tortillas kept warm. Each guest makes tacos their way.

Tacos

Soft tortillas, warmed and filled, finished with salsas and toppings. Fillings such as carnitas, chicken tinga or spiced mushrooms are agreed with you.

Should I do it myself?

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For big numbers or lots of diets, a caterer makes life easier, with allergen information for every dish.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

Hampden Park questions

We’re having a ceremony at St Mary's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Is it possible to have you in Princes Park?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Ask them first, and we’ll help with the information they need from us.

Do you provide plates and napkins?

We confirm that with your quote. Tell us whether your venue has crockery or you’d prefer disposables.

Can you plan for allergies?

Our menus are planned with allergies in mind, nut allergies included, and give allergen information for every dish. We keep options separate, but we cannot promise anything is completely allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

Do you cater for big events?

Truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. Festivals can be bigger, and smaller parties are quoted case by case.

Can you do dairy-free food?

We can. Dairy-free options are part of our menus.

Do you have options for kids?

Yes. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

How long do you serve for?

We get there well before service to set up. Serving times are agreed with you in advance.

Planners, venues and businesses

If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’ll work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we will follow them.

How the day works

It is a relaxed, well-organised set-up. Arrival and serving times are agreed beforehand, get the serving area ready, and get on with serving. A December event in Hampden Park will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so choose a spot where guests can see what they’re ordering. In late June, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:15pm.

  1. Share the date, the venue and how many are coming.
  2. We plan a menu that covers every diet.
  3. We check the route in and where the truck or trailer will stand.
  4. Food is served from the hatch or a taco-bar table.
  5. After the last serving, we clear our area.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Let us know about any other food at the event
  • Put any allergies in writing for us
  • Ensure the menu has a vegan option
  • Think about cover for guests in wet weather

If timings change on the day, tell us and we’ll adjust.

Quesadillas are a good choice for children and cautious eaters, because they’re simple.

Some venues in protected landscapes have rules about vehicles and catering, so check with yours. With the sea within about 3 miles, a beach-side event might appeal.
