Planners, venues and businesses

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we’re happy to deal with you and the venue directly. It keeps things simple.

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so everyone is served promptly. Let us know how long the break is.

Mexican catering for your event in The Hale

Taco catering in The Hale is what we do best. Our food truck or trailer travels to events across The Hale and nearby: gardens, fields, yards and venues with hardstanding. On the menu are fresh salsas and guacamole, tacos and burrito bowls, which works well for charity and school events and festivals, fairs and markets.

In The Hale, a courtyard, a venue forecourt or a garden with drive access can work well. If the garden is only reached through the house, a spot on the drive or the street may work, with permission. Send us a photo of the access. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

Step by step

On the day, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. Service starts at the time we have agreed, planned around your event. Winter evenings in The Hale close in by about 3:55pm, so a well-lit spot for the queue makes a big difference. At midsummer, the light holds until around 9:20pm.

  1. First, send us a few details about your event.
  2. We suggest fillings and extras and send a quote.
  3. We agree access, the serving spot, power and water.
  4. On the day we park up, set up and serve hot food to order.
  5. We pack down after service and leave the area tidy.

Our caterer checklist

The Hale: your questions answered

Could you serve in Stoneyfields Park?

Only with permission from whoever runs the park, often the council. Ask them first, and we will help with the information they need from us.

We’re having a ceremony at John Keble Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Send us the reception address.

Do you cater for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free guests?

Yes. We plan vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests. We give allergen information for every dish.

What food do you serve?

Tacos, build-your-own taco bars, burritos, burrito bowls, loaded nachos and quesadillas, with salsas, guacamole and toppings. See our sample menu.

Can you run a bar?

Yes, we run a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we will go through the licensing with you.

What food and drinks do you offer?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings could include chicken tinga, pork carnitas, al pastor-style pork and vegan options like black beans. See our menu for ideas.

Do you take everything away?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

Do you have dairy-free options?

Yes. Dairy-free options are part of our menus.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

How it compares

Next to a hog roast or a barbecue, tacos make vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free guests easier to cater for, because fillings and toppings are kept separate. Larger events can cost less per head, since the set-up is much the same either way. Give us your numbers and we’ll quote.

How we price Mexican catering

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • How many guests we’re serving
  • How many staff you need
  • How long we are needed on site
  • Food, drinks or both

Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

Getting an accurate quote

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both
  • Where the event is
  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • The date and rough timings

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: venue, timings, menu ideas and access. To send your details, use our quote form.

The menu, item by item

Burritos and burrito bowls

A burrito is a meal in one. The bowl version suits anyone avoiding tortillas.

Loaded nachos

Loaded nachos are perfect for sharing, whether as a starter or a late bite. Dairy-free versions can be planned.

Planning the serving area

We serve from a truck or trailer, so where we park matters. These are the things we check:

  • Agreement from the venue to bring a food truck or trailer on site
  • A route in that is wide and tall enough, with soft ground checked in advance
  • A flat, firm spot where the truck or trailer can stand

London streets around The Hale can be narrow and busy, and all of Greater London sits inside the ULEZ. Tell us about loading, permits and any parking suspension when you enquire.
