Mexican street food in Salfords, from our truck or trailer

Festivals can be bigger than our usual 50 to 400 guests, so share expected numbers and trading hours and we’ll plan around them. At country shows and festivals, we can serve burritos, burrito bowls and loaded nachos for your guests.

Near Salfords, events may be far from shops and cafés, so a taco truck is a welcome sight. Food and drinks can be booked together or separately, so one caterer can cover more of the day.

Running a fête for a church like Christ the King? A Mexican street-food truck draws people in. For a public event, it helps to tell people that Salfords station is in Salfords itself. Events in and around the Surrey Hills National Landscape, within about 8 miles of Salfords, often have rules about vehicles, ground and waste; we’ll follow the site’s requirements.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

Doing it yourself? Start with the quantities: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

Comparing your options

Food that sits in a hot cabinet isn’t much to look at. Our food is made to order. Access and travel can make a difference to the cost, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

Perfect for your event in Salfords

It feeds crew and volunteers well.

Big or small, a truck or trailer works well. Common bookings include:

  • Feeding crew and volunteers
  • Summer fairs and fêtes
  • Community events and open days
  • Country shows

Hot food from a truck or trailer could give a school fair, for a school such as Salfords Primary School, a busy corner.

Salfords questions

Is it possible to have you in Earlswood Common?

Only if the landowner, often the council, allows it. Check with them, and we will provide what they ask for from us.

Is Salfords close to London?

Roughly 21 miles from the centre of London, and well within our area.

What do you serve?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings could include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. See our menu for ideas.

Is the food suitable for children?

Of course. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

Is there a vegan option at your stall?

Yes. There are vegan tacos and corn tortillas for gluten-free visitors, with allergen information for every dish.

Will you have a stall at our event?

Send us the event details, dates and pitch information, and we will check availability.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

Yes. We offer dairy-free options, and we will tell you which dishes contain milk.

What happens if it rains?

We can keep serving from the truck or trailer in the rain, but your guests will want somewhere covered, such as a marquee, gazebo or nearby building.

Space, access and the venue

We will be honest if a space won’t work. What matters most:

  • Trader information and site rules
  • Your arrangements for power, water and waste
  • Clearance from tents and gazebos

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Planning for every diet

We take diets and allergies seriously. Help us by following these steps:

  • Plan access routes for trader vehicles
  • Make allergen information visible at every stall
  • Ensure the line-up includes vegan and gluten-free options
  • Schedule crew meals

Our pitch is kept tidy throughout the day.

Burrito bowls for gluten-free visitors.

How it works

On the day, we position the truck or trailer and get the serving area ready. We are ready to serve at the agreed time, so everything runs to your schedule. For an evening event in Salfords, sunset is about 8:50pm in late May and 9:20pm in late June; after that, the trading area needs lighting from the organiser or the site.

  1. Tell us about the event and pitch.
  2. We confirm our menu, pitch needs and paperwork.
  3. We arrive and set up at the agreed time.
  4. Orders are served from the hatch while the event runs.
  5. We clear and leave the pitch clean.

Before we arrive

  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Find out what power and water are available
  • Check gates and access routes are wide and high enough
