Mexican street food in Weston, served fresh

A taco stall covers many diets at once: there are vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, with corn tortillas. That makes your food line-up easier. It suits outdoor cinema and theatre nights and county and country shows, with tacos, burritos and burrito bowls.

Events near Weston are often volunteer-run, so it helps to agree the pitch, power and water early. Guests are served from our food truck or trailer, or from a serving table nearby, and we plan service so the queue keeps moving.

Street food for events around Weston

Weston is about 2 miles north-east of Hythe, in Southampton. For Mexican street food in Weston, we plan around your venue and timings: a quote, a plan and friendly service on the day. We cater in 40 places across Southampton, from the larger towns to small villages, wherever the truck or trailer can get in.

For a church fête or fundraiser, at a church such as Holy Trinity Church, a taco truck adds hot food to the cakes and tombola. For a public event, it helps to tell people that the nearest station is Sholing station, about 0.8 miles north. Within about 6 miles is the New Forest National Park, where events may have extra rules on vehicles and waste; we will follow the site’s requirements. Seafront festivals and markets, with the coast within about 2 miles of Weston, need the organiser’s permission for traders. Send us the pitch details and we will check access.

Mexican street food in SO19 and SO31 is planned around your venue and access and your guests. That could mean an event at a home with a drive on Swift Road, Scott Road and Weston Lane or the roads around them. How we price Mexican street food

Here’s what makes the biggest difference to the price:

  • Food, drinks or both
  • Serving staff
  • Parking and the route in
  • How many guests we are serving

Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so tell us about the venue when you ask for a quote. The full price is confirmed in your quote.

What to tell us

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but these help:

  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • Where the event is
  • What power and water the site has
  • Whether you’d like food, drinks or both

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: venue, timings, menu ideas and access. When you are ready, drop us a line using the enquiry form.

Why choose Mexican street food in Weston?

It adds colour to a food line-up.

Big or small, a truck or trailer works well. Common bookings include:

  • Race days and sports events
  • Village fêtes and summer fairs
  • Fundraisers and fêtes
  • Food markets

A school such as Weston Shore Infant School running a summer fair could book a taco truck.

Before you book anyone

  • A food hygiene rating you can check
  • Travel and parking costs
  • Whether VAT is included
  • When final numbers are due

Our caterer checklist

Your questions about Mexican street food in Weston

Can you bring your truck or trailer to Westwood Woodland Park?

It depends on the park’s owner, who would need to agree to a catering vehicle on site. Ask them first; if they say yes, we’ll send what they need from us.

Do you cater at coastal events near Weston?

We can, given firm ground and the landowner’s permission. Beaches and promenades usually need the council’s agreement, so check that first.

Do you give allergen information?

Our menus are planned with allergies in mind, nut allergies included, and give allergen information for every dish. We keep options separate, but we cannot promise anything is completely allergen-free. If a guest has a severe allergy, please talk to us before the event.

Can you trade at our festival or fair?

Tell us about your event, and we will reply with our availability and what we need.

How is the food prepared?

We cook to order in our food truck or trailer kitchen, or serve from a taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

What do you need at the venue?

Access and level ground matter most: a firm spot for the truck or trailer, room for a queue and, for a taco bar, space for a serving table. If in doubt, send us a picture of the space and the way in.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we will go through the licensing with you.

When should we book?

As soon as you have a date. Peak dates go quickly, so it pays to ask early.

Space, access and the venue

If a space is not suitable, we’ll tell you, and suggest an alternative. What matters most:

  • Details of power, water and waste arrangements
  • Your trader pack and site rules
  • Access for the truck or trailer at set-up

Not sure about your space? Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.

DIY taco night versus a caterer

For a small group, a taco night at home can work well. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

Comparing your options

For crew catering, sandwiches are easy but uninspiring. A hot meal keeps crew happy. Catering from a truck or trailer can be a practical alternative to a sit-down meal, as there is no kitchen to hire. Ask us for a quote.

How it works

Once service is over, we pack down and clear our own area. We agree set-up and pack-down times with you and your venue. At midsummer, events in Weston stay light until about 9:25pm, so evening trading normally finishes in daylight in high summer. For winter markets, dark by about 4:00pm, the pitch needs lighting.

  1. Organisers send us the event details, dates and pitch information.
  2. We send our menu, pitch requirements and the documents you ask traders for.
  3. We set up the truck or trailer on the pitch at the agreed time.
  4. Tacos, burritos and more are served to order while the event is open.
  5. At the close, we clear our pitch.

Preparing for the day

  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
  • Let us know the timings for the day
