Mexican catering in N19: what to expect

With mobile Mexican catering, we bring the kitchen with us: our truck or trailer parks at your venue and we serve hot food straight from the hatch. No kitchen is needed on site. Popular choices include tacos, a build-your-own taco bar and burritos, and it suits birthday parties and anniversaries and engagements.

Serving is quick: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. When service ends, we pack down.

  1. Begin with the date, the place and the numbers.
  2. Expect a suggested menu and a quote.
  3. Closer to the day, we confirm timings and arrangements.
  4. We serve hot food from our food truck or trailer at the agreed time.
  5. When you’re done, we pack away.

How we price Mexican catering

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, because of:

  • Parking and the route in
  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • How many staff you need
  • How many guests we’re serving

Cost depends on guest numbers, the menu and the length of service, plus any add-ons and the location. We quote for each event individually.

Getting an accurate quote

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Please include:

  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground

  • The date and time of the event
  • Roughly how many adults and children

DIY taco night or a caterer?

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone has to serve all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Space, access and the venue

Every venue is different, so we ask about the space before we confirm. Generally, we look for:

  • The venue’s or landowner’s permission for a catering vehicle
  • Details of power and water on site, agreed when you book
  • Space for a taco-bar table if you’ve chosen one

Organising for someone else?

Hosting a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we’ll let you know if it is a good fit.

For larger events, we plan serving points around your timings, so everyone is served promptly. Tell us how long you have for food and drinks.

Common questions in N19

Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes, and we plan them in from the start. Tell us your numbers when you ask for a quote, and we will keep their options separate.

How spicy is the food?

That’s your choice: we can keep the main dishes mild, with hotter salsas served separately. Read more about how spicy Mexican food is.

Is the food made fresh?

Food is cooked to order in our food truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Slow-cooked fillings are prepared in advance and kept hot on site.

Can you cater for guests who avoid dairy?

Yes, on request. Tell us how many guests need dairy-free food, and we’ll include them in the plan.

When should we book?

As early as you can, especially for summer weekends. Even if it’s short notice, it is worth asking.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we do. The drinks bar can be added to food or booked on its own, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. For alcohol, we will check the licensing with you and your venue.

How many guests can you serve?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. For anything outside that, ask us.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
