Taco bar hire in Acton, from our food truck or trailer

Add burrito bowls, loaded nachos or quesadillas if you’d like more choice. Our drinks bar can be booked with it too. At leaving dos and wedding breakfasts, we will put together a menu of warm corn and flour tortillas, slow-cooked fillings kept hot and a build-your-own taco bar for your guests.

In a small place like Acton, a taco bar might go in a garden, a barn or a nearby hall. If the truck cannot get close, we can set the station up nearer your guests, as long as we can unload within a short walk. You’ll know what’s included before you book: menu, timings and any add-ons.

How we price taco bar hire

Every event is priced individually, based on a few main things:

  • Serving staff
  • What the venue already provides
  • What’s on the menu
  • Guest numbers

The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.

What to tell us

To speed things up, tell us:

  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • The date and time of the event
  • A picture of where we’d park
  • Expected numbers

To get a price, just send a quick message through our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we will suggest a menu to suit.

Organising for someone else?

If you’re organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

Planners and coordinators can contact us directly, and we’ll keep you updated on timings and set-up.

Dietary needs and planning tips

With a little notice, most diets are easy. We suggest:

  • Make sure one filling is vegan
  • Ask the venue where we can park to unload
  • Send us allergy details in writing
  • Have tables and seats ready for guests to eat at

A covered spot keeps the bar and guests dry if it rains.

Book our drinks bar with the taco bar for margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas, with licensing checked with you.

About the menu

Hot fillings

Taco bars for events around Acton

Acton is about 10 miles south-west of Ashford, in Kent. Tell us where your event in Acton will be, and we will plan the journey and set-up before the day. Acton is one of 922 places in Kent where we can bring taco bar hire. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Acton to Maidstone (19 miles away).

Historic houses near Acton include Smallhythe Place (1.5 miles north-west) and Lamb House (4.9 miles south). If your event is at a historic house or estate, ask early whether a staffed taco bar is allowed and where we could unload. If people are travelling in by rail, Appledore (Kent) station is about 4.4 miles away. The coast is within about 5 miles of Acton, so for a seaside taco bar we plan around the wind. A sheltered spot for the station helps, and seafront sites generally need permission.

What we need at the venue

Plenty of outdoor spaces and venues work for us, but there are a few things to check:

  • Details of power and water near the bar
  • Space for a serving table on level ground
  • The venue’s or landowner’s agreement

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we will advise before you book.

Popular choices

  • Tortilla chips
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Two to four fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Vegan fillings

Acton questions

We’re having a ceremony at Parish Church of St John the Baptist: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Tell us where the reception will be.

Which station should guests use for Acton?

Guests can use Appledore (Kent) station, about 4.4 miles east of Acton.

Is the food suitable for children?

Of course. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Tell us how many children are coming.

Can guests build tacos at a wedding breakfast?

A taco bar makes a relaxed, sociable wedding meal. Service is timed around speeches and photos. There is more in our taco bar guide.

Can guests build their own tacos?

Yes, a taco bar is one of the ways we serve. Let us know your numbers and space and we will suggest the best set-up.

When do you arrive?

It depends on your event. We agree arrival, service and pack-down times with you to suit your day.

What’s on the menu?

We agree a sample menu with each client. Fillings could include slow-cooked pork carnitas, chicken tinga, beef birria and vegan options such as spiced mushrooms or black beans. See our menu for ideas.

How much space do you need?

Level, firm ground or hardstanding for the truck or trailer, and a route in it can fit through, plus the venue’s permission. Power and water arrangements are confirmed with each booking.

How it works

We get there well before you want to serve, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. Evenings in Acton stay light until about 9:15pm in June, but by late September sunset is around 7:00pm. Once it gets dark, guests need to see what they’re adding to their tacos.

  1. Tell us about your event and your guests.
  2. You get a suggested taco-bar menu and a quote.
  3. Access, power and water are agreed beforehand.
  4. We set up the station and keep everything hot.
  5. Afterwards, we pack down and leave the area tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Ask the venue about power and water
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Let us know who to talk to on the day

Questions to ask before you book

DIY taco night versus a caterer

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. Booking a caterer means you can relax with everyone else.

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
