About our taco bar hire in Alscot

A taco bar puts the whole spread on one table: warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings. Each guest takes a plate and fills it their way. It suits milestone birthdays and christenings and family parties, serving fresh salsas, a build-your-own taco bar and guacamole.

For a rural spot like Alscot, a taco bar beside the truck in a field or garden is a simple set-up. Tell us about gates, ground and the distance from the lane, and we confirm power and water arrangements before the day. You’ll know what’s included before booking: menu, timings and any add-ons.

Questions from Alscot

How far is Alscot from London?

It is about 36 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Could you serve our guests after a service at St Teresa's Church?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. Service would be at the reception venue, not the church. Send us the reception address.

Can you cater in a back garden?

That depends on access. If the truck or trailer can’t reach the garden, a drive or a spot nearby may work, with permission. Tell us about the space and we’ll advise.

How big an event can you cater?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but our truck and trailer service usually suits around 50 to 400 guests. For anything outside that, ask us.

Do you provide allergen information for each dish?

We plan allergen-aware menus, including for nut allergies, and give allergen information for every dish. We keep options separate, but we cannot promise anything is completely allergen-free. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us before the event.

What if the weather’s bad?

The truck or trailer can serve in the rain, but your guests will want somewhere covered, like a marquee or gazebo.

Can guests build their own tacos?

We can. We can set up a build-your-own taco bar, served from the truck or a serving table, with fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings. Read our taco bar guide.

Is a taco bar suitable for a big group?

That depends on your timings and the event. As a guide, our bookings usually fall around 50 to 400 guests.

How the day works

On the day, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. Service starts at the time we’ve agreed, so everything runs to your schedule. A December taco bar in Alscot will be in the dark from about 3:55pm, so an indoor spot or a well-lit station works best. At midsummer, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:25pm.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, how many guests and any diets.
  2. We suggest fillings, salsas and toppings for the bar and send a quote.
  3. Before the day, we confirm the serving spot, unloading, power and water with the venue.
  4. We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and guests help themselves.
  5. When service finishes, we clear the table and pack the vehicle.

Getting ready for the day

  • Choose a level, firm spot for the truck or trailer
  • Share the running order, including any speeches
  • Give us your final numbers and diets

How we price taco bar hire

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • What’s on the menu
  • Parking and the route in
  • What the venue already provides
  • The number of people

Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Contact us for a quote.

Getting an accurate quote

We can quote more accurately with a few details. Here’s what’s useful:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • Where the event is
  • A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: the venue, the timings, food or drinks or both, and the access. When you’re ready, send a quick message through our quote form.

Choosing a Mexican caterer

Can I do a taco night myself?

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: see how many tacos per person. Keep warmed tortillas covered, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. Common snags are cold tortillas, uneven quantities and the host missing the party. If you’d rather enjoy the party, let us serve.

Catering for every guest

We take diets and allergies seriously. Here’s how you can help:

  • Decide where the table goes before the day
  • Ask the venue where we can park to unload
  • Ensure guests have somewhere to sit
  • Have anyone with a severe allergy speak to us first

If speeches or timings run over, we keep the fillings hot and start when you’re ready.

Burrito bowls sit well on the bar for anyone avoiding tortillas.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
