How our taco bar hire works in Brixton

You choose the fillings with us, such as pork carnitas, chicken tinga or beef birria, plus a vegan choice such as spiced mushroom or black bean and sweet potato. It suits family get-togethers and barn parties, with fresh salsas, pickled onions and toppings and warm corn and flour tortillas.

From an office courtyard to a hired room, a taco bar in Brixton needs space for a table and a queue. Tell us where we can stop to unload, and about stairs, lifts or narrow doors. We cater for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan guests, with allergen information for everything we serve.

Is taco bar hire right for your event?

A taco bar and a truck serve the same food in different ways. From the truck, we put each order together; at the bar, guests build their own. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll suggest a menu to match. Even a simple menu can feel generous.

Planning a taco bar in Brixton

Brixton is about 1 mile south of Stockwell, in Greater London. For an event in Brixton, we can park up at venues, fields, drives and courtyards. We cater in all 764 towns and villages in Greater London, wherever the truck or trailer can get in.

Parks such as Max Roach Park generally need the owner’s agreement for catering, even without a truck on the grass, so ask before you plan. Around Brixton, historic houses include Kingswood House (2.4 miles south-east) and Carlyle's House (2.9 miles north-west). Estates and listed houses set their own rules for caterers, so check where a taco bar station and our vehicle would be permitted before booking.

Brixton is on the A204 and A2217, which makes it straightforward to bring the truck or trailer. We also serve at events in Stockwell (1 mile north), Clapham Park (1 mile west), Angell Town (1 mile north), Loughborough Junction (1 mile north-east) and Tulse Hill (1 mile south-east). Questions to ask before booking

How the day works

Service is quick and friendly: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. Afterwards we clear our area. Winter evenings in Brixton close in by about 3:55pm, so set the station up where the lighting is good. In late June, the light holds until around 9:20pm.

  1. Share a few details about the event.
  2. We send a sample spread and a quote.
  3. Access, power and water are agreed beforehand.
  4. We set up the station and keep everything hot.
  5. Afterwards, we pack down and leave the area tidy.

How to prepare

  • Name one person we can ask on the day
  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in

Planning help

Catering for every guest

Mixed diets are straightforward to plan for, because guests can choose what suits them. A few tips:

  • Tell us how many children are coming
  • Agree the serving spot with your venue early
  • Ensure one filling is vegan
  • Confirm a loading spot close to the bar

We arrive with time to unload and set the bar up before guests eat.

Loaded nachos make a good starter while the bar is set up.

What taco bar hire costs

The same guest numbers can mean different prices, because of:

  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Whether you need disposables
  • How many guests we’re serving
  • The length of service

A food truck can be a practical alternative to plated catering, as there’s no kitchen to hire. Ask us for a quote.

What to tell us

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • A picture of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Any dietary needs and allergies
  • The date and rough timings
  • Approximate guest numbers, including children

Tell us your date, venue or postcode and roughly how many guests, plus any dietary needs, and we’ll reply with a menu suggestion and a quote. To get started, send a quick message through our quote form.

Can I do a taco night myself?

Not sure whether to do it yourself or book a caterer? Consider your numbers, your guests’ diets and your own time. Ask us for a quote and compare.

Running your own drinks table is one option, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. Our margarita bar guide has tips.

Brixton: your questions answered

We’re having a ceremony at Trinity Congregational Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Which station should guests use for Brixton?

Brixton has its own station: Brixton station.

What does taco bar hire cost?

Every event is quoted individually, based on what you actually need. Give us your date, numbers and menu ideas and we will reply with a quote.

Can you plan for allergies?

Yes. Tell us about allergies when you book. Under UK rules, caterers must give information on 14 allergens, and we give it for every dish (Food Standards Agency guidance). For severe allergies, please talk to us first.

Can the taco bar cater for special diets?

Keeping each dish separate makes mixed diets easier, though we cannot guarantee there are no traces of any allergen. Guests with severe allergies should talk to us first.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food, with alcohol-free options such as aguas frescas. For alcohol, we’ll talk licensing through with you and your venue.

Do you cater for coeliacs?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we check every dish and give allergen information.

What should the venue provide?

Tell us about the venue and the spot you have in mind, and we’ll confirm what’s needed. The venue’s agreement is needed too.

  • Served from our truck or trailer at your venue, garden or event
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with allergen information
  • Tacos and taco bars, burritos, bowls, nachos and quesadillas
  • Mexican drinks bar: margaritas, Mexican beer and aguas frescas
