FAQs for Camden Town

Could the taco bar go somewhere in Camden Town that the truck cannot reach?

Normally, if the venue agrees to a staffed station. We still need somewhere close by to unload, and in London that may mean a loading bay or a parking suspension.

We are having a ceremony at St Michael's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.

Can you cater for children?

Yes, children are easy to plan for. Let us know numbers and ages, and we will suggest mild options.

Do you provide drinks?

Yes, we do. Our drinks bar can be booked on its own or with food. For alcohol, we will go through the licensing with you and your venue.

Who looks after the taco bar?

Our staff set up the bar, keep the fillings hot and top up the dishes.

How does a taco bar work?

We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas, guacamole and toppings on a serving table, and each guest builds their own. Our staff keep it hot and topped up.

What guest numbers do you cater for?

It depends on the event and the timings. As a guide, our bookings typically fall around 50 to 400 guests, so tell us your numbers.

Do you clear up afterwards?

We pack down and tidy our own area after service. For anything beyond that, such as guests’ tables, ask us.

Diets, allergies and planning

Most events have a mix of diets. To plan for them:

  • Decide where the table goes before the day
  • Make sure guests have somewhere to sit
  • Put allergies in writing for us
  • Check where our vehicle can unload

Our staff stand behind the bar to top up dishes and help guests.

Nachos to share can keep guests going before the bar opens.

How it works

When we arrive, we park the truck or trailer in the agreed spot and set up. Service starts at the time we have agreed, planned around your event. From late May to late September, sunset in Camden Town moves from about 8:55pm to 7:05pm. If the taco bar is outdoors and runs later, tell us what lighting the venue has.

  1. Start with the essentials: the date, venue, headcount and diets.
  2. You get a suggested taco-bar spread and a quote.
  3. Together we fix the spot for the taco bar and a nearby place for our vehicle.
  4. Our staff set up the station, keep the fillings hot and top up the bar through service.
  5. Once guests have eaten, we take down the bar and leave the spot tidy.

Getting ready for the day

Planning help

Prices and what affects them

Contact us for a quote, which reflects:

  • The length of service
  • Whether you need disposables
  • Parking and the route in
  • Adding food to drinks, or drinks to food

Access, parking and the distance to your venue can affect the price, so it helps to tell us about your venue. Your quote confirms the full price.

Details that help

You don’t need every detail fixed to get a quote, but these help:

  • Your date and when you want service to start
  • A picture of the space, if it is a garden or field
  • The address or venue name
  • Expected numbers

To get a price, just fill in our quote form. Give us the details of your event, and we’ll suggest a menu to suit.

Organising for someone else?

Throwing a party at home? Send us a picture of the space and tell us about the drive and gates, and we will tell you honestly whether a truck or trailer will fit.

If you are organising for someone else, such as a wedding planner, an office manager or a festival organiser, we will work directly with you and the venue. It saves passing messages back and forth.

A closer look at the menu

Warm tortillas

Corn and flour tortillas, warmed through in batches so there’s always one ready. Corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests.

Salsas

Fresh salsas, from a mild tomato salsa to something hotter.

Can I do a taco night myself?

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, with allergen information for every dish.

Some hosts like to do it themselves. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we will do the serving.

Is taco bar hire right for your event?

If you want food that feels sociable but still well run, a taco bar suits events well. Pricing depends on the event. A short lunch service for a team is a different job from a full wedding day. Your quote sets it all out.
