Book taco bar hire in Comp

Taco bar hire for your event in Comp

Truck and trailer bookings typically suit around 50 to 400 guests, while smaller parties are quoted case by case. Share your headcount and we will size the taco bar to match. It suits family celebrations and wedding breakfasts, serving guacamole, burrito bowls and a build-your-own taco bar.

In a small place like Comp, a taco bar might go in a garden, a barn or a nearby hall. If the truck cannot get close, we can set the station up nearer your guests, as long as we can unload within a short walk. You can book food, drinks or both, so the food and drinks can come from one caterer.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

Plenty of people try a DIY taco night at home. The usual problems are cold tortillas, running out of a popular filling and a host stuck at the stove. If you’d rather be with your guests, we’ll do the serving.

How it compares

If you want food that feels sociable but still well run, a taco bar suits events well. The cost per head can fall as numbers rise, because the set-up is similar for different sizes of event. Give us your numbers and we will quote.

How we price taco bar hire

Two events with the same number of guests can cost different amounts, depending on:

  • What the venue already provides
  • Travel, parking and access
  • What’s on the menu
  • Timings and hours

Got a budget? Let us know, and we will suggest a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Getting an accurate quote

The more we know about your event, the better we can plan. Try to include:

  • Roughly how many adults and children
  • A photo of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • What you’d like on the menu

How the day works

Service is quick and friendly: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. When service ends, we pack down. Daylight in Comp runs to about 8:50pm in late May and 7:00pm in late September. Let us know if an outdoor station will run after dark, and we will talk about lighting.

  1. Start with the essentials: the date, venue, headcount and diets.
  2. We plan the fillings and toppings with you and quote for them.
  3. We agree where the table goes and where our vehicle can unload.
  4. We set out warm tortillas, hot fillings, salsas and toppings, and guests help themselves.
  5. After the last tacos, we clear the station away.

Preparing for the day

  • Measure any gates or arches on the way in
  • Arrange somewhere covered for guests to eat

Planning help

Comp: your questions answered

Do you come out to small places like Comp?

Yes, we cater in villages and hamlets as well as towns. Tell us about lanes, gates, ground and parking.

Can you cater a reception after a service at Church of St Mary?

Yes, at a garden, field or venue nearby where the truck or trailer can park. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Tell us where the reception will be.

Do you take everything away?

Our area is packed away and left tidy. Tell us the venue’s rules on waste and clearing up and we will confirm the arrangements with your quote.

What space does a taco bar need?

Send us details of the venue and where you’d like the bar, and we will confirm what’s needed. We also need the venue’s permission.

Do you have options for kids?

Yes. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Include children in your numbers.

Is the food made fresh?

Food is cooked to order in our food truck or trailer, or served from a build-your-own taco bar. Fillings are slow-cooked beforehand and finished on site.

When should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Ask about your date even if it’s soon.

When do you arrive?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. Serving times are agreed with you in advance.

Before you choose a spot

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We need:

  • Cover overhead if the bar is outdoors
  • Room nearby to park and unload our vehicle
  • Room for guests to queue along the table

If you are unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Popular choices

  • Tortilla chips
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Two to four fillings
  • Vegan fillings

Warm tortillas

Tortillas are the base of the bar. We warm them as the bar needs them through service.

Hot fillings

A few fillings give guests plenty of choice, including a vegan one. We agree them with you.

Planning a taco bar in Comp

Comp is about 3 miles west of Kings Hill, in Kent. From the centre of Comp to the outskirts, taco bar hire works the same way: a truck or trailer at your event, options for every diet and a clear price. Comp is one of 922 towns and villages in Kent where we can bring taco bar hire. Our truck and trailer cover the area from Comp to Maidstone (about 8 miles away).

Close to Comp are historic houses such as Old Soar Manor (1.7 miles south-west) and Ightham Mote (3.5 miles south-west). Estates and listed houses set their own rules for caterers, so check where a taco bar station and our vehicle would be permitted before you book. When the service is at a church such as Church of St Mary, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church. Venues in and around the Kent Downs National Landscape, within about 8 miles of Comp, sometimes have strict rules about catering and vehicles. Check with yours where a taco bar station and our food truck or trailer could go.

Anywhere in TN15, we can bring the truck or trailer to your guests. If your venue is just outside Comp, we also cover Platt (1 mile north-west), Wrotham Heath (1 mile north-east), Crouch (1 mile south-west), Claygate Cross (1 mile south-west) and Borough Green (1 mile west). • Local schools include Wrotham School (1.6 miles north-west)
  • Nearby, you’ll find The Blue Anchor pub (0.7 miles north-west)

Catering for every guest

Most events have a mix of diets. To cater well for them:

  • Plan the taco bar around speeches and timings
  • Give us separate numbers for children
  • Check where our vehicle can unload
  • Send us allergy details in writing

Dishes are labelled, with allergen information available at the table.

For larger groups, ask about a second serving point.

For event organisers in Comp

Organising a club, school or community event in Comp? Service from a truck or trailer is quick, even for a crowd, and the menu can suit most diets. Tell us about the event and we’ll suggest a menu.
