Taco bar hire in Basted, served fresh
A taco bar suits mixed diets well, because every filling and topping sits in its own dish. There are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan choices, with corn tortillas for gluten-free guests. We serve burrito bowls, pickled onions and toppings and fresh salsas, which works well for marquee parties and evening wedding receptions.
For a rural spot like Basted, a taco bar beside the truck in a field or garden is a simple set-up. Tell us about gates, ground and the distance from the lane, and we will confirm power and water with you. We arrive ready to serve, and clear our own area when service is finished.

Common questions in Basted
We’re having a ceremony at The Church of the Good Shepherd: can you cater afterwards?
Yes. The church itself is not where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we’ll check the access.
Do you come to events in the Kent Downs National Landscape?
We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.
Which areas do you serve?
We cover London and the South East, including Kent. Find your area.
What guest numbers do you cater for?
It depends on the event and the timings. As a guide, our bookings usually fall around 50 to 400 guests.
What happens if it rains?
We can keep serving from the truck or trailer in the rain, but guests need somewhere covered to eat and drink, like a marquee or gazebo.
Do you have vegan options?
Yes. Vegetarian and vegan fillings, such as spiced mushrooms or black beans, can be part of the menu, served alongside the meat options.
Do you bring plates and cutlery?
Please ask us. Tell us what your venue provides, and we’ll set out plates, napkins and cutlery in your quote.
How big an event can you cater?
That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. For anything outside that, ask us.
The process
Here’s how the day normally runs: we park up and get ready, we open the hatch when you’re ready, and we serve your guests fresh for the agreed time. Daylight in Basted runs to about 8:50pm in late May and 7:00pm in late September. If the taco bar is outdoors and runs later, tell us what lighting the venue has.
- Send us your date, where the taco bar will go, numbers and dietary needs.
- You get a suggested taco-bar spread and a quote.
- Before the day, we confirm the serving spot, unloading, power and water with the venue.
- Our staff set up the station, keep the fillings hot and top up the bar through service.
- When service finishes, we clear the table and pack the vehicle.
Preparing for the day
- Ask the venue about power and water
- Have level hardstanding or firm ground ready
- Name one person we can ask on the day

- Put guests with serious allergies in touch with us early
- Confirm a loading spot close to the bar
- Flag any guest with coeliac disease
- Count children separately
After the last plate, we take the bar down, then load our vehicle.
Burrito bowls sit well on the bar for anyone avoiding tortillas.
For planners, venues and organisers
Many venues have rules for outside caterers: vehicle access, arrival times and documents. Send us your venue’s requirements and we’ll follow them.
If you run the same event each year, tell us your dates early, so we can check the date.
Should I do it myself?
DIY catering keeps costs down, but the host spends the party serving. With a caterer, you get the food and drinks without the work.
