Taco bar hire for your event in Grubb Street

We run the taco bar ourselves: warming tortillas, keeping fillings hot and refilling the salsas as they go. Nobody from your side needs to lift a spoon. It works well for barn and marquee parties and leaving and retirement parties, serving burrito bowls, fresh salsas and a build-your-own taco bar.

Somewhere as small as Grubb Street, a garden, barn or hall can host a taco bar. If the truck cannot get close, we can set the station up nearer your guests, though we still need to unload within a short walk. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

How the day works

Serving is quick: we serve from the hatch or a serving station, so a crowd is looked after quickly. Afterwards we clear our area. Daylight in Grubb Street runs to about 8:50pm in late May and 7:00pm in late September. Let us know if an outdoor station will run after dark, and we will talk about lighting.

  1. Start with your date, venue and guest numbers.
  2. Together we choose what goes on the bar.
  3. We confirm the table spot and where we will unload.
  4. Our staff set out the bar and guests build their own tacos.
  5. When everyone has eaten, we pack up.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know the timings for the day
  • Get the venue’s permission for us to park and serve
  • Have a marquee or gazebo ready in case of rain

FAQs for Grubb Street

Do you set up taco bars indoors in places like Grubb Street?

We can, as long as the venue agrees. The station needs room for a queue, and we need to park and unload close to the door.

How far is Grubb Street from London?

It’s about 17 miles from central London, and inside the area we cover.

Is a taco bar suitable for a big group?

Our service typically suits around 50 to 400 guests, and smaller parties are quoted case by case. Tell us your numbers and we’ll plan the bar around them.

Can you do gluten-free food?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

Where do you cater?

London and South East England: Greater London, Kent and Medway, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, including Grubb Street.

What if the weather’s bad?

We can keep serving from the truck or trailer in the rain, but your guests will want somewhere covered, such as a marquee, gazebo or nearby building.

Do you cook on site?

Fillings are slow-cooked in advance, then finished and kept hot on site. Tortillas are warmed on site, and salsas and guacamole are made fresh.

What does taco bar hire cost?

The price depends on numbers, menu, service time and where your event is. Send us the details for a quote.

What’s on the menu

Toppings

The toppings are where guests make each taco their own.

Warm tortillas

Soft corn and flour tortillas, kept warm. Corn tortillas suit gluten-free guests.

Can I do a taco night myself?

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label anything containing allergens.

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it’s more work than it looks. Fillings need slow cooking, tortillas need warming as you go, and salsas need making. Our taco bar guide explains how.

Planning for every diet

Every guest is catered for, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free included. To get it right:

  • Count children separately
  • Flag any guest with coeliac disease
  • Ask guests about diets and allergies on the RSVP
  • Confirm a loading spot close to the bar

Each dish is labelled, and allergen information is kept at the bar.

For larger groups, ask about a second serving point.

Space, access and the venue

Access is the first thing to check for a truck or trailer. We look for:

  • Permission from the venue for us to set up
  • Power and water, which we confirm when you book
  • A sheltered spot if we’re serving outside

If in doubt, send us a picture of the spot and the access, and we’ll advise before you book.

Popular choices

  • Two to four fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Pickled onions and toppings
  • Tortilla chips
  • Vegan fillings
