The toppings are where guests get creative: pickled onions, coriander, lime, shredded lettuce and cheese. At barn and marquee parties and office lunches, we will put together a menu of fresh salsas, slow-cooked fillings kept hot and burrito bowls and more.

Near Hangleton, a marquee or barn makes a good home for a taco bar. We set up the station and our team runs it. You will know what’s included before you book: menu, timings and any add-ons.

Events we cater in Hangleton

It’s informal but still feels looked after, because our staff keep the bar tidy and topped up.

Here are some of the events we cater:

  • Family get-togethers
  • Birthday celebrations
  • Wedding breakfasts
  • Retirement parties

When the service is at a church such as St Andrew's Church, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church.

Prices and what affects them

Pricing is straightforward once we know the basics:

  • The length of service
  • Guest numbers
  • Serving staff
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food

Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Your quote sets it all out.

Getting an accurate quote

To check availability and price, we need:

  • Gate widths, slopes and the ground
  • A photo of the space, if it’s a garden or field
  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy numbers
  • The address or venue name

Each quote is tailored to your event. Tell us your date and guest numbers, and we’ll confirm whether we are available that day.

Common questions in Hangleton

Do you come to events in the South Downs National Park?

Yes, though some venues in protected landscapes have extra rules; ask your venue. Tell us about narrow lanes and soft ground.

We’re having a ceremony at St Andrew's Church: can you cater afterwards?

Yes, at a nearby garden, marquee or hall with access for the truck or trailer. We’d serve at the reception venue rather than at the church itself. Send us the reception address.

How long do you serve for?

We get there well before service to set up. Serving times are agreed with you in advance.

Is a taco bar right for a wedding?

The taco bar can be the wedding breakfast, the evening food or both. Timings are agreed with you and your venue, and guests build their own plates.

How much is a taco bar?

We do not publish set prices, as each booking is different. Share your plans and you will get a quote. See what Mexican catering costs for background.

Do you do margaritas?

Yes, we offer a Mexican drinks bar, with margaritas, Mexican beer, aguas frescas and soft drinks. Your venue or event may need the right licence for alcohol, so we’ll go through the licensing with you.

When should we book?

Early, particularly for summer Saturdays. Even if it’s short notice, it’s worth asking.

Can you keep it mild?

We can keep it mild, and hotter salsas go on the side for guests who like heat.

The process

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. When service opens, guests come up to the hatch or serving table. Around midsummer it stays light in Hangleton until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so a summer taco bar outside normally runs in daylight. In December it is dark by about 4:00pm, so guests will need light to see the fillings and toppings.

  1. Get in touch with your date and headcount.
  2. We plan fillings and toppings around your guests’ diets.
  3. We fix timings with you and the venue.
  4. Service starts when your running order says.
  5. Once service is over, we pack away.

How to prepare

  • Send us final numbers and dietary needs in good time
  • Tell us when you want service to start
  • Tell us what power and water the site has

Getting a price

Most quotes start with a few simple details: the date, where the event is, how many guests and any dietary needs. To send them, send a quick message through our quote form.

Planning help

Can I do a taco night myself?

A DIY taco night is possible for a crowd, but it is more work than it looks. There are fillings to slow-cook, tortillas to keep warm and salsas to make. Our taco bar guide explains how.

You can set up your own drinks table, but someone still has to mix, pour and keep an eye on it all evening. See our margarita bar guide.

Dietary needs and planning tips

Dietary needs are easy to plan for with a little notice. Our advice:

  • Confirm any allergies to us by email
  • Ask guests with severe allergies to contact us before the day
  • Include a vegan filling on the bar
  • Set out seating near the bar

Dishes are labelled, with allergen information available at the table.

Add burrito bowls for guests who’d rather skip tortillas.

Taco bar hire or something else?

Sandwich platters are convenient but forgettable. Warm tortillas and hot fillings give a lunch more to talk about. The price depends on guest numbers, the menu and how long you’d like us to serve, along with extras and where your event is. We quote for each event individually.
