Taco bar hire near Highgate

About our taco bar hire in Highgate

Toppings make the bar: pickled onions, coriander, lime, shredded lettuce and cheese, agreed with you in advance. For staff parties and summer garden parties, we’ll put together a menu of a build-your-own taco bar, fresh salsas and slow-cooked fillings kept hot.

In Highgate, all a taco bar needs is room for the station and space for guests to queue. Let us know about the loading point and any stairs, lifts or narrow doorways. Timings are planned around your event, whether that’s speeches, a lunch break or a festival schedule.

How it compares

A plated wedding breakfast needs a kitchen, waiting staff and fixed courses. For a taco bar, we need a serving spot, a nearby place to unload and the venue’s permission, with power and water confirmed when you book. Pricing depends on the event. A simple party menu and a full wedding day are very different jobs. Contact us for a quote.

Why choose taco bar hire in Highgate?

Building your own is quick, so a crowd is fed at a steady pace.

A truck or trailer works for big and small events alike. Typical bookings include:

  • Family get-togethers
  • Barn parties
  • Team socials
  • Anniversary parties

When the service is at a church such as Highgate United Reformed Church, the taco bar would be set up at the reception venue rather than the church.

Before you book anyone

  • How each diet is kept separate
  • Whether travel is included

Questions to ask before booking

Planning a taco bar in Highgate

Highgate is about 2 miles north-east of Hampstead, in Greater London. We serve at events in gardens, halls and venues around Highgate and nearby villages. Highgate is one of 764 places in Greater London where we can bring taco bar hire.

Historic houses near Highgate include Witanhurst (within half a mile south-west) and Athlone House (0.6 miles west). Historic venues often limit where vehicles can go, so ask whether a taco bar station could be set up inside while our food truck or trailer parks further off. Here we cover the N6, N19 and NW5 postcode area, so your event can be anywhere in it. Dietary needs and planning tips

A Mexican menu is easy to plan for mixed diets, because guests can choose what suits them. Here are a few tips for planning:

  • Flag any guest with coeliac disease
  • Collect dietary needs with your replies
  • Check where our vehicle can unload
  • Have anyone with a severe allergy speak to us first

Indoors or under cover, the bar carries on whatever the weather, so plan somewhere sheltered if you can.

Our food truck or trailer can serve later in the day, after the taco bar.

Highgate: your questions answered

Can you cater a reception after a service at Highgate United Reformed Church?

Yes. The church itself isn’t where we’d set up, but a hall, field or garden close by with room for the truck or trailer can work well. Let us know the reception address and we will check the access.

Can you set up a taco bar where your truck can’t park in Highgate?

Yes, if the venue allows it. The truck or trailer does not have to reach the room, but we do need to unload close by, so tell us about loading, permits and parking.

How much is a food truck for an event?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the length of service and the location. Contact us for a quote.

Do you have options for kids?

Of course. Mild dishes, quesadillas and nachos can be part of the menu. Include children in your numbers.

How long are you on site?

We get there well before service to set up. The length of service is agreed when you book, along with pack-down.

What about power on site?

Let us know what’s available on site, for instance a supply from the venue, and we will confirm what we need with your quote.

Do you have gluten-free options?

We can, using corn tortillas. Corn is naturally gluten-free, though some sauces and toppings can contain gluten, so we plan gluten-free dishes carefully and give allergen information.

How much is a taco bar?

We quote for each taco bar, depending on guests, menu, venue and timings. For a price, tell us about it on our contact page.

What’s on the menu

Hot fillings

A few fillings give guests plenty of choice, including a vegan one. You choose them with us.

Guacamole

No taco bar is complete without guacamole.

How the day works

We arrive in good time before service, then set up and prepare everything. Guests come up to order when service opens. Around midsummer it stays light in Highgate until about 9:20pm; by late September sunset is nearer 7:05pm, so an outdoor taco bar in summer is usually served in daylight. For winter events, dark by about 3:55pm, plan good lighting over the station.

  1. Start with your date, venue and guest numbers.
  2. Together we choose what goes on the bar.
  3. We confirm the table spot and where we’ll unload.
  4. On the day, guests help themselves while we keep the bar stocked.
  5. When everyone has eaten, we pack up.

How to prepare

  • Find out what power and water are available
  • Pick a flat, firm spot for us to park
  • Name one person we can ask on the day

How to get a price

Each quote is tailored to your event. Give us your date and numbers, and we’ll check availability at the same time.

Planning help

Planners, venues and businesses

Events in public spaces, like parks, normally need permission. We will provide the information the landowner or council asks for from us.

Planning an event for a club, school or charity in Highgate? Service from a truck or trailer is quick, even for a crowd, and the menu can suit most diets. Give us the details and we will suggest a plan.

What taco bar hire costs

We quote for your event, which reflects:

  • Plates, napkins and cutlery
  • Serving staff
  • Your choice of food and drinks
  • Whether you add a drinks bar or food

Your choice of food and drinks affects the price, so tell us what you have in mind. Tell us your budget and we’ll suggest a menu.

What we need to know

You don’t need everything decided to ask for a quote, but it helps to know:

  • Access for the truck or trailer, including gates and ground
  • The date and time of the event
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • What power and water the site has

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote: venue, timings, menu ideas and access. When you are ready, fill in our quote form.

Where the truck can go in Highgate

The route in matters as much as the spot itself. We look for:

  • A sheltered spot if we are serving outside
  • Permission from the venue for us to set up
  • Somewhere close by for our vehicle to park and unload

Highgate is in London, inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, which covers all of Greater London, and parking can be tight: tell us about parking bays, permits, a driveway or whether a parking suspension is needed.

If you’re unsure, send a picture of the space and the way in, and we’ll say what we think before you book.
