Taco bar hire in Howe Hill, from our food truck or trailer

The taco bar works for a wedding breakfast, a party or a working lunch. Building your own is quick, which keeps the line moving, and nobody waits long. On the menu are burrito bowls, warm corn and flour tortillas and guacamole, and it’s a good fit for garden parties and team lunches.

Near Howe Hill, a marquee or barn makes a good home for a taco bar. We set up the station and our team runs it. We turn up ready to serve, and tidy our own area afterwards.

DIY taco night or a caterer?

A DIY taco night works well for a small group. For larger numbers, mixed diets or a wedding, a caterer takes the pressure off, and handles allergen information for you.

If you do it yourself, work out quantities first: our guide to how many tacos per person helps. Keep tortillas warm in a covered basket, and label dishes for guests with allergies.

Comparing your options

Sandwich platters are convenient but forgettable. Warm tortillas and hot fillings give a lunch more to talk about. If you have a budget in mind, tell us, and we’ll suggest a menu that fits. A simple menu can still feel generous.

Why us?

  • Options for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free guests
  • A quote that sets out what’s included
  • Quick, friendly service from the hatch
  • Menus chosen with you

See our prices page or our guide to catering costs.

What happens on the day

Serving is quick: guests are served at the hatch or a serving station, so even a long queue moves. When service ends, we pack down. Winter evenings in Howe Hill close in by about 3:55pm, so an indoor spot or a well-lit station works best. At midsummer, by contrast, daylight lasts until about 9:25pm.

  1. Tell us the date, the venue, how many guests and any diets.
  2. We suggest fillings, salsas and toppings for the bar and send a quote.
  3. Together we fix the spot for the taco bar and a nearby place for our vehicle.
  4. On the day our staff lay out the bar and keep it stocked while guests build their tacos.
  5. When service finishes, we clear the table and pack the vehicle.

Preparing for the day

Planning help

Planning for every diet

Nearly every event has some special diets. To cater well for them:

  • Count children separately
  • Confirm any allergies to us by email
  • Include a vegan filling on the bar
  • Set out seating near the bar

Our staff stand behind the bar to top up dishes and help guests.

Ask us whether a second station would help with big numbers.

About the menu

Guacamole

Guacamole goes quickly on a taco bar.

Salsas

Guests add as much heat as they like.

Before you choose a spot

Before the day, we will agree where we park and serve. A good spot ticks these boxes:

  • Space for a serving table on level ground
  • Details of power and water near the bar
  • Room for guests to queue along the table

If you’re unsure, send a photo of the space and the way in, and we will say what we think before booking.

What we offer

  • Vegan fillings
  • Corn and flour tortillas
  • Salsas and guacamole
  • Tortilla chips
  • Two to four fillings
  • Pickled onions and toppings

Questions from Howe Hill

Can you bring a truck or trailer to venues in the Chilterns National Landscape?

We do, where the venue allows a catering vehicle. Lanes can be narrow and ground soft, so tell us how we’d get in.

Could you set up a taco bar in a hall near Howe Hill?

Yes, with the venue’s permission. We need a short route from where we park to the room, and space for the station and a queue.

How many guests can you serve?

That depends on the menu and the service time, but around 50 to 400 guests is the usual range. Tell us your numbers and we’ll advise.

Can you cater for children?

Yes. We can keep dishes mild, and simple options such as quesadillas or nachos can be part of the menu. Include children in your numbers.

How much space do you need?

Access and level ground matter most: a firm spot for the truck or trailer, room for a queue and, for a taco bar, space for a serving table. Send us a picture and tell us about gates, slopes and soft ground.

Do you bring plates and cutlery?

Please ask us. Let us know what you already have, and we will confirm what’s included with your quote.

When do you arrive?

We arrive in good time to set up before service. Serving times are agreed with you in advance.

Do you stay to run the taco bar?

Our staff set up the bar, keep the fillings hot and top up the dishes through service.

Prices and what affects them

Each event is quoted on its own, based on a few main things:

  • Travel, parking and access
  • The number of people
  • What’s on the menu
  • Whether you need disposables

Extra dishes, drinks and longer service are priced on request, so you choose what goes in.

Details that help

For a quote, it helps to have:

  • What you’d like on the menu
  • Where the event is
  • Diets and allergies you know about
  • How we drive in and where we can park

Most quotes start with a few simple details: date, location, guest numbers and diets. Contact us for a quote: just fill in our quote form.
